We are looking for Carbody Engineer

You’ll make a difference by

  • Design of mechanical assemblies and individual parts of rail vehicles
  • Design of welded and bonded parts
  • Creation of paint drawings of rail vehicles
  • Preparation of installation drawings and parts lists
  • Coordination with Responsible Headquarter Engineer, production, industrial engineering, sourcing, and quality.
  • Independent coordination of interfaces with partners in the Engineering department
  • Identification of risk in the allocated area and communicates to superiors (line and project)
  • Compliance with communicated deadlines and fulfilment of project-specific requirements.
  • Independent provision of specifications and implementation of the same.
  • Creation of 3D models and 2D drawings for parts, assemblies, and installations.
  • Creation of bills of materials.

Desired Skills:

  • Design, develop, and optimize mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Prepare 2D drawings and 3D models using industry standard and Parametric in Creo-9.and Auto CAD
  • Basic knowledge of an ERP system, preferably SAP
  • Basic knowledge of a product data management system, preferably windchill PDM-link
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in the field of mechanical engineering or similar.
  • Sound knowledge of the design of metallic components.
  • Basic knowledge of various manufacturing processes such as casting, forging, extrusion, roll forming, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of various joining processes such as welding, screwing, and bonding, including the most important standards for these processes, e.g. EN 15085.
  • Basic knowledge of paint systems, including process steps, equipment handling, and quality requirements.
  • Conduct engineering calculations, material selection, and tolerance analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams including manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and testing.
  • Support prototype development, validation, and design refinement.
  • Work with ERP and PDM systems for BOM management and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards, safety requirements, and engineering best practices.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical inputs.
  • Troubleshoot design and manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Experience (5+ years) in international project business ("European way of working") preferably in the rail vehicle industry.
  • Self-reliant and able to work independently.
  • Strong team player and active communicator with other team members and interface partners.
  • Intercultural openness (worldwide cooperation with employees, customers, and suppliers from a wide range of cultures).
