We are looking for Group Lead Train IT System Engineering Projects

You’ll make a difference by

As the Group Lead, you will be the driving force behind a talented team of engineers, guiding them through the full project lifecycle from concept to commissioning and providing advice to CCIT Line managers. Your responsibilities will include: -

  • Provide expert technical guidance and strategic direction for the design, architecture, and implementation of Train IT systems (CCTV, PIS, Network, Wayside.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of IT system engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment
  • Allocate resources effectively to meet project demands and organizational goals
  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of Train IT system engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to specification
  • Lead Train IT project team, including effort estimation, hours controlling, and deliverable tracking.
  • Present technical solutions, project progress, and strategic roadmaps to senior management and clients.
  • Define and oversee comprehensive system engineering strategies for Train IT system.
  • You will create concepts and configurations for customer-specific solutions for PIS in rail vehicles.
  • You will specify Train IT subsystems (specially PIS) and components for passenger coaches according to customer requirements in a team.
  • Your tasks include coordinating the specification with customers, sub-suppliers and other system suppliers.
  • You are responsible for clarifying physical (installation and placement technique) and electrical interfaces, preparation of accordant concepts and requirements for the responsible implementation teams.
  • You are responsible for clarifying technical IT-interfaces with train control and monitoring systems (TCMS) and all partners involved, such as other subsystems and sub-suppliers.
  • You are responsible for the specification of requirements and design of the PIS, Res, and PC communication from rail vehicles to the landside based on the requirements of related services on the landside.
  • You are supporting the testing of the Train IT systems.
  • You present the work results internally and externally.
  • You will assist experts during commissioning.
  • You will create concepts and configurations for customer-specific solutions for Train IT components in rail vehicles.
  • You will specify Train IT subsystems and components for passenger coaches according to customer requirements in a team.
  • Your tasks include coordinating the specification with customers, sub-suppliers and other system suppliers.



Desired Skills:

·       Minimum of 12+ years of experience in IT system engineering, with a significant focus on complex, mission-critical systems.

·       You have a degree in engineering such as communications engineering/ telecommunications or comparable.

·       Proven experience in team leadership, task delegation, and resource planning.

·       Experience with system architecture design tools and methodologies

·       Knowledge of requirements engineering is a prerequisite.

·       You have professional experience in the field of Train IT systems (PA, PIS, Res, PC) in railways. Design Experience is must.

·       You have basic computer networking knowledge and basic IT security knowledge.

·       You are willing to travel internationally.

·       Good communication and presentation skills complete your profile.

·       Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus

·       Hybrid work model available after an initial 6 months’ probation period.

·       Travel may be required (15-20%) depending upon requirement.
