We’re seeking a Project Lead to join our team developing the next generation of the SIMATIC ET 200 family — our industry-leading decentralized I/O systems. As we expand the portfolio of our device family and implement advanced features and communication protocols, we’re delivering solutions that help define the future of industrial automation.

This role is a unique opportunity to lead development within the SIMATIC ET 200 family—Siemens’ flagship distributed I/O platform and one of the world’s most widely deployed decentralized I/O product lines.

By joining our team, you’ll strengthen your project leadership skills in industrial automation while contributing to products used in factories worldwide. The role offers clear development opportunities within Siemens—a globally recognized leader in automation technology.


Your task will be:

  • Lead R&D development projects for ET 200 SP interface modules (approx. 8 FTE; embedded systems; firmware and inntegration test)
  • Plan, track, and report project execution and deliveries (scope, schedule, cost, quality)
  • Manage stakeholders across R&D, production, and validation to ensure alignment and timely decisions
  • Build trusted relationships with internal customers and identify opportunities for new collaborations
  • Drive quality management by establishing team processes that ensure high-quality development and reliable deliveries
  • Contribute actively to the department strategy and its execution
  • Be a role model for ownership culture, compliance, and fair behavior
  • Embed AI into everyday engineering workflows (from requirements to release) to boost speed, quality, and collaboration

What we will appreciate from you:

  • Strong project management skills (planning, execution, risk management, reporting, negotiation with customer)
  • Experience in R&D for embedded systems (firmware and/or industry/automation software)
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Leadership, ownership mindset, and strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
  • Experience with modern development practices (e.g., Agile/Lean, TDD, continuous integration)
