Construction Sales Engineer – Switchgear

This position will be remote in Charlotte metro areas.

Role Description

You’ll make an impact by:

The Construction Sales Engineer is responsible for selling low- and medium-voltage power distribution and power control solutions within the Charlotte, NC construction market.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain strong, trusted relationships and clear communication with electrical contractors and distributor partners
  • Cultivate a healthy sales pipeline by uncovering new opportunities, following up on leads and managing existing customer base
  • Develop and implement account plans that exceed expectations in revenue retention/growth, account profitability, and customer satisfaction/loyalty
  • Provide guidance around the application/use of electrical distribution equipment in construction projects within North Carolina
  • Provide subject matter expertise and thought leadership with electrical distributors and contractors
  • Work in close collaboration with project internal estimators/bid coordinators to deliver timely project quotations
  • Work both alone and in close collaboration with project managers, to identify, develop, and execute project deliverables as required to exceed customer’s expectations
  • Work closely with business units and manufacturing plant liaisons to ensure timely delivery of necessary project deliverables
  • Collaborate with other Siemens Smart Infrastructure businesses in the presentation, sale, and delivery of comprehensive Siemens solutions.
  • Maximize the utility and ensure accuracy of Siemens CRM (SieSales) to develop, forecast, tract, and communicate project opportunities.

This high-visibility position is required to provide a strong market presence and support distribution channel partners to drive market share growth.

Product sales responsibilities but not limited to: Panelboards, Switchboards, Medium Voltage switchgear, lighting panels, low voltage switchgear, busway, motor control centers, molded case circuit breakers, IEC/NEMA control, safety switches, and residential electrical distribution products.

You will win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering is strongly desired, although a combination of education (HS Diploma or GED equivalency is a minimum requirement) and directly related work experience will also be considered.

5+ years of successful sales experience

3+ years’ experience of LV/MV power distribution products

Ability to travel 15% of the time.

*Must possess a valid Driver's license in good standing & be at least 21 years of age to participate in the required Siemens vehicle plan.

The pay range for this position is $74,970.00 - $156,794.00 annually plus an uncapped commission structure. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
