We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Snowflake)
We're seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. You will play a key role in enabling data-driven decision-making across Siemens Mobility’s global commercial project planning application. The ideal candidate will contribute to the design, development, and optimization of scalable, cloud-based data solutions on Snowflake, ensuring the delivery of reliable, high-quality data that powers critical financial insights and KPIs.
You’ll make a difference by:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable end-to-end data pipelines (ELT) on modern cloud platforms like Snowflake
- Define and evolve the target data architecture (Data Warehouse / Data Platform) in alignment with business and IT strategy.
- Hands-on experience in Snowflake, cloud data warehousing concepts, and ETL/ELT processes.
- Build and optimize performant data models (staging, core/transform, mart layers) following standard processes
- Implement and continuously improve CI/CD processes for dbt projects (deployment, testing, versioning).
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents while continuously improving platform stability.
- Optimize performance of SQL transformations and data workflows.
- You understand the requirements from our worldwide business stakeholders and create innovative solutions upon central SAP modules such as FI, CO, PS.
- You provide operative support of the application by handling incidents and monitoring data loading processes.
You’ll win us over by:
- 6-10 years of experience in Data Engineering / Analytics Engineering.
- Strong expertise in SQL and must have hands-on experience with Snowflake & DBT.
- Deep understanding of modern data architectures (ELT principles, layered approach, Data Mesh, data products).
- Interact with business stakeholders in requirement gathering, understanding business logic and creating end-to-end data models by building reports using reporting tools to help business making decisions swiftly.
- Design efficient data models ensuring data consistency, integrity, and performance optimization.
- Experienced in transitioning SAP analytics solutions to Snowflake.
- Proficiency in SQL and database table design – able to write structured and efficient queries on large data sets.
- Experience with reporting tools (e.g., Power BI) or any other reporting solutions.
- Good understanding of AI use cases and data preparation (e.g. Snowflake Cortex Semantic Models) and Snowflake Intelligence.
