What do you contribute?

At Frankfurt Airport, we are responsible for the complete operation and maintenance of the new Sky Line people mover system. This fully automated elevated railway enables up to 4,000 passengers per hour to travel between the airport terminals. The state-of-the-art train reaches top speeds of up to 80 km/h. #FRAPORT


In your new role, you will oversee the maintenance of the Skytrain system (PTS2) infrastructure, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations.

  • You will be responsible for planned and unplanned maintenance activities, spare parts management, and technical enhancements across all infrastructure subsystems, including the guideway (including power supply and guide rail), train control systems, wayside communication, platform screen doors (PSDs), and CCTV systems.
  • You will ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements as well as quality and EHS standards.
  • You will provide both disciplinary and functional leadership to the responsible maintenance team, support employee development, and foster the continuous development of relevant team capabilities.
  • Furthermore, you will contribute to the development and implementation of maintenance strategies, policies, standards, and processes, while supporting their continuous improvement.
  • In addition, you will be responsible for resource and financial management within your area of responsibility, including workforce planning, budgeting, logistics, and the ongoing optimization of operating and maintenance costs.
  • You will further develop reporting structures and performance metrics to monitor and manage all operational processes.
 

What do you bring along?

  • You hold a university degree in a technical field (e.g. Engineering) or a comparable technical qualification (e.g. Certified Technician or Master Craftsman).
  • You bring several years of experience in the maintenance of railway systems, infrastructure, or comparable technical assets.
  • In addition, you have gained leadership experience in a maintenance or asset management environment.
  • You are willing to work flexible hours, including occasional assignments outside regular working hours, particularly to support and oversee nighttime maintenance activities.
  • You are characterized by a high level of personal responsibility, a strong customer focus, and a pragmatic hands-on approach.
  • Last but not least, you possess very good written and spoken English skills; German language skills are an advantage.
