Position Overview:

Ready to help keep world-class mobility solutions moving? Join Siemens Mobility as a Buying Professional and be part of the team that keeps critical Customer Services operations on track. In this role, you will support the Customer Services Operational Procurement Team by driving purchase-to-pay activities, order management, commodity support, and IT equipment purchasing for assigned product areas.

This is an exciting opportunity to make an impact every day by issuing purchase orders to approved suppliers, helping secure the right materials at the best value, and balancing quality, reliability, and urgency of need. You will build strong supplier partnerships, monitor performance, maintain lead times for custom and standard orders, and collaborate closely with Strategic Procurement to support supplier quality, negotiated terms, and the successful execution of commodity strategies.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Take ownership of the full purchase order lifecycle, including order confirmations, delivery date updates, and maintaining accurate SAP data.
  • Keep materials moving by monitoring and expediting past-due orders in partnership with suppliers and internal teams to support on-time delivery.
  • Drive timely purchase order updates, including reschedules and cancellations, while keeping stakeholders informed and aligned.
  • Coordinate Return to Vendor (RTV) activities for non-conforming or excess materials, helping ensure timely returns, credit resolution, and clear follow-through.
  • Support quality and inventory accuracy by investigating discrepancies, addressing supplier non-conformance issues, and contributing to Material Review Board (MRB) processes.
  • Help maintain financial accuracy by performing GR/IR reconciliation and invoice processing while partnering with suppliers, Procurement, and Accounts Payable to resolve discrepancies.

This posting outlines the primary responsibilities of the role but is not all-inclusive; additional duties may be assigned in alignment with business needs.

To thrive in this role, you have:

  • High School Diploma / GED.
  • 3+ years of proven experience in procurement, supply chain, or order management operations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to use digital tools to support accurate and efficient work.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong customer service mindset with a commitment to responsiveness, follow-through, and partnership.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, shifting priorities, and time-sensitive requests while maintaining accuracy and momentum.
  • Strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to identifying needs, resolving issues, and keeping work moving forward.

Candidates should be willing to work in non-climate-controlled environments and inclement weather if required or if applicable.

Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without needing current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

Purpose is the reason a company exists. It's not about making money or selling products - it's the deeper "why" behind everything we do. It answers the question: What problem are we solving? What positive change are we creating?

For Siemens, our purpose has been clear for over 175 years: We create technology to transform the everyday, for everyone.

The world needs technologies that work. Technologies that matter. Technologies that solve today's challenges and help shape a better tomorrow. And that's exactly what we build. By bringing together the real world (factories, buildings, power grids, trains) with the digital world (software, data, AI, digital twins), we help our customers become more competitive, resilient, and sustainable.

Our technology is everywhere - in trains and transportation, we help move people faster, safer, and more sustainably.
