Do you want to help create the future of healthcare? Our name, Siemens Healthineers, was selected to honor our people who dedicate their energy and passion to this cause. It reflects their pioneering spirit combined with our long history of engineering in the ever-evolving healthcare industry.

We offer you a flexible and dynamic environment with opportunities to go beyond your comfort zone in order to grow personally and professionally. Sound interesting?

Are you interested in Medical Technology? Are you curious about how clinical AI solutions are brought into practice? Would you like to gain hands-on experience with a real-world research and innovation platform used in medical imaging?

Then join our Digital & Automation (D&A) Summer Challenge to gather hands-on experience with the latest technology and present your solution to our team!

The D&A Summer Challenge takes place on 7th October 2026, from 09:00 - 17:30 in Erlangen!

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • You will work in a small team on a Frontier challenge. A skeleton project and an existing open-source algorithm will be provided. Your primary task is to integrate the algorithm into Frontier – The Research Innovation Platform for Clinical AI – and make it available as part of a Frontier workflow
  • As an additional challenge, you may further adapt, improve, or extend the provided algorithm to enhance its functionality, usability, or performance. This gives you the opportunity to demonstrate both your software engineering and innovation skills
  • No worries! The necessary development environment, documentation, and mentoring support will be provided so that you can focus on discussing ideas, implementing solutions, and experimenting. To help you get ready for the challenge, we warmly invite you to join our pre-workshop on 30th September 2026 in Forchheim
  • That’s not all: During the hackathon, you will have plenty of opportunities to interact with Siemens Healthineers software engineers. You will learn more about Frontier and modern medical imaging software development while expanding your professional network
