Siemens Mobility is a leader in sustainable, reliable, and safe transportation solutions for rail vehicles, their infrastructure, automation, and electrification. We create innovative products in the segment of urban public transport vehicles (trams, metro) and commuter, regional, and high-speed rail transportation.
 
We are currently looking for a new experienced colleague to join our direct procurement department in Ostrava. At Siemens Mobility Shared Services Center, we procure materials and services for our international branches, especially in Germany, with whom we are in daily contact. We work with inquiries/offers, manage supplier data in internal systems, prepare tenders, and conduct electronic auctions.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsibility for procuring materials for projects related to railway electrification
  • Processing documents from suppliers and customers
  • Negotiating strategic procurement conditions when creating framework contracts for operational procurement (processing offers, negotiating prices)
  • Benchmarking suppliers
  • Gradually taking over the agenda related to budget management, KPIs, and other procurement-related processes
  • Recording materials, offers, and contracts
  • Active communication with colleagues, customers, and suppliers in German and English
  • Occasional business trips to production plants/suppliers in Germany (approx. 1 per month)
Qualifications: 
  • University degree in technical, business, or economic field
  • Knowledge of German and English
  • Experience in strategic procurement and negotiation with suppliers
  • MS Office (good knowledge of Excel)
  • Experience with SAP or a similar system is an advantage
  • Communication skills and ability to work independently
  • Flexibility for occasional travel to production plants and to suppliers to Germany (once a month)
  • Willingness to learn and further develop in the field of procurement
