Position Overview: 

Siemens Mobility is shaping the future of rail transportation with innovative rail solutions that move people and goods safely, reliably, and efficiently. 

 
As an Electrical Systems Engineer, you’ll apply your Siemens knowledge to high-impact rail projects, supporting the design and troubleshooting of critical onboard electrical systems. This full-time, on-site role is based in Lexington, North Carolina, with occasional travel to Sacramento and customer sites as needed. 

What your day-to-day will look like: 

  • Support complex electro-mechanical systems from the bid phase through concept development, testing, and warranty. 
  • Integrate hardware and software while considering EMI/EMC requirements and cybersecurity standards. 
  • Review vendor specifications, support supplier evaluation and selection, and assist with on-car commissioning and troubleshooting. 
  • Prepare, review, and approve bid and project documentation, including proposal writeups, schematics, drawings, manuals, and test procedures. 
  • Evaluate supplier proposals and deliverables against regulatory, customer, internal, and industry standards. 
  • Collaborate with suppliers, purchasing, quality, production, and project management teams to optimize technical solutions for cost and schedule. 

This posting outlines the primary responsibilities of the role, but is not all-inclusive; additional duties may be assigned in alignment with business needs. 

To thrive in this role, you have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. 
  • Experience in electrical engineering, systems engineering, or electro-mechanical design. 
  • Knowledge of digital signal processing, radio frequency, computer networking, networking protocols, electro-mechanical integration, and schematics. 
  • Experience using troubleshooting tools such as Picoscope, oscilloscope, multimeter, Wireshark, WinSCP, or PuTTY.

The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.

The pay range for this position is $83,640 - $98,328 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
