You'll make an impact by
- Building on an existing Python framework, you review and analyze relevant literature on fairness concepts and regulatory requirements for low-voltage grids, identifying and assessing suitable fairness metrics for Dynamic Operating Envelopes
- Subsequently, you implement and test selected fairness functions within realistic and synthetic grid scenarios, evaluating their impact on both grid efficiency and customer treatment
- Based on your findings, you systematically analyze the trade-offs between fairness and flexibility, deriving recommendations for practical deployment and summarizing your results in a scientific Master’s thesis

- Education: You are currently enrolled in a degree program in electrical engineering, physics, applied mathematics, computer science or a related field
- Experience and Skills:
- Good programming skills in Python
- Experience with version control systems such as Git or GitLab
- Basic knowledge of electric power systems or strong willingness to quickly learn power system concepts
- Ways of Working: You have an independent, motivated, and ambitious working style with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Languages: You possess excellent written and spoken English skills for scientific communication
