Smart infrastructure from Siemens makes the world a more connected and caring place – where resources are valued, where impact on the world is considered, where sustainable energy is delivered reliably and efficiently. It provides the flexible infrastructure to allow society to evolve and respond to changing conditions. Technology and the ingenuity of people come together to be at one with our environments and to care for our world. We do this from the macro to the micro level, from
physical products, components and systems to connected, cloud-based digital offerings and services. Siemens offers a broad portfolio of grid control and automation; low- and medium-voltage power distribution, switching and control; and building automation, fire safety and security, HVAC control and energy solutions.

About the Role

We are looking for a future-ready Supply Chain Manager who can own and transform the end-to-end material and logistics ecosystem — from supplier planning and material availability to warehouse, stores, order management, dispatch and logistics.
The ideal candidate will go beyond day-to-day execution and build a lean, digital, cost-effective, sustainable and resilient supply chain capable of supporting business growth, new products and changing customer requirements.
This role requires a strong combination of operations excellence, supply chain planning, analytics, supplier management, digitalization and people leadership.

Key Responsibilities

1. Warehouse & Stores Management
  • Lead end-to-end warehouse and stores operations covering RM, WIP, FG, packing materials and critical spares.
  • Ensure high inventory accuracy through robust FIFO/FEFO, cycle counting, bin management and visual management.
  • Drive 5S, Lean Warehouse, space optimization and material-flow improvements.
  • Reduce material handling, waiting time, excess movement and storage costs.
  • Establish scalable warehouse systems suitable for increasing volumes and product variants.
2. Material Planning & Availability
  • Ensure right material, right quantity, right place, right time for uninterrupted production.
  • Drive material planning through MRP, demand planning, safety stock, reorder parameters and inventory segmentation.
  • Proactively identify shortages, bottleneck materials and long-lead components.
  • Develop robust shortage-management and escalation mechanisms.
  • Balance availability vs. inventory investment.
3. Supplier Planning & Vendor Management
  • Lead supplier planning, supplier scheduling and delivery performance management.
  • Develop supplier scorecards covering OTD, quality, responsiveness, capacity, cost and risk.
  • Work with suppliers to improve lead time, flexibility, MOQ and delivery reliability.
  • Develop alternate sources and supplier-risk mitigation plans for critical materials.
  • Partner with Procurement, Quality and Engineering to improve supplier capability.
4. Import Material Planning
  • Own planning and coordination of imported materials, considering lead time, transit time, customs clearance and supply risks.
  • Optimize shipment frequency, container utilization and inventory buffers.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce import lead time and landed cost.
  • Establish visibility of materials in transit and upcoming requirements.
5. Order Management & Dispatch
  • Own the complete order-to-dispatch flow and ensure OTIF customer delivery.
  • Coordinate production, planning, warehouse, quality and logistics teams to meet dispatch commitments.
  • Improve order visibility and establish clear escalation mechanisms.
  • Drive dispatch readiness, documentation accuracy and customer delivery performance.
  • Optimize finished-goods inventory and dispatch planning.
6. Logistics & Cost Optimization
  • Drive continuous reduction in inbound, outbound, transportation, warehousing and handling costs.
  • Optimize transportation modes, routes, load consolidation and vehicle utilization.
  • Develop logistics cost dashboards and cost-per-unit / cost-per-shipment metrics.
  • Identify opportunities for milk runs, consolidation, route optimization and digital logistics management.
  • Lead logistics cost-reduction projects with measurable financial impact.
7. Supply Chain Digitalization
  • Lead digital transformation of supply chain processes using SAP/ERP, dashboards, analytics, automation and digital workflows.
  • Eliminate manual spreadsheets and fragmented information wherever practical.
  • Develop real-time visibility of material availability, supplier performance, inventory, shortages, orders, dispatches, logistics cost, import shipments and supply chain risks.
  • Identify and implement opportunities using data analytics, automation, AI/ML and predictive insights.
8. Inventory Optimization
  • Establish strategies to reduce excess, obsolete and slow-moving inventory without impacting production or customer service.
  • Drive inventory segmentation such as ABC/XYZ, criticality and lead-time-based planning.
  • Optimize working capital while maintaining required service levels.
  • Develop clear inventory targets and accountability across functions.
9. Supply Chain Sustainability
  • Drive reduction of CO₂ emissions, packaging waste, transportation waste and material wastage.
  • Promote reusable/returnable packaging and sustainable logistics solutions.
  • Improve truck/container utilization and reduce empty transportation.
  • Integrate sustainability KPIs into supply chain decision-making.

10. MIS, Analytics & Performance Management
  • Develop and own a robust Supply Chain MIS covering Material Availability, Production Shortage, Inventory Turns, Inventory Value, Excess & Obsolete Inventory, Supplier OTD, Supplier Lead Time, OTIF, Warehouse Productivity, Order Fulfilment, Dispatch Adherence, Logistics Cost, Freight Cost per Unit, Import Lead Time, Working Capital and Supply Chain Risk.
  • Use data-driven analysis and root-cause problem solving to convert information into actionable decisions.

Requirements

1. Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics or a related discipline.
  • MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain, Operations or related field will be an advantage.
2. Experience
  • 8–15 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Materials Management, Warehouse or Operations.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments is preferred.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and external suppliers/logistics partners.
3. Technical Competencies
  • Supply Chain Planning

  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and rapidly changing business requirements.
  • Uses data to make decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Can challenge existing processes and create better ways of working.
  • Builds high-performing teams and develops people.
  • Strong cost, customer and business mindset.
  • Can translate strategy into measurable operational results.
