Siemens Digital Industries Software is seeking an inspiring and technically adept Team Leader to manage and mentor a diverse team of Data Analysts, AI Data Scientists, and Data Visualization Analysts based in India. This critical role involves providing day-to-day leadership, technical guidance, and operational oversight to ensure the successful execution of data-driven projects. The Team Lead will serve as the primary interface between the India-based team and US-based stakeholders, directly translating business use cases and deliverables into actionable plans for the team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of leadership capabilities, deep technical understanding across the data and AI spectrum, and exceptional cross-cultural communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Management:
- Provide daily leadership, mentorship, and coaching to a team of Data Analysts, AI Data Scientists, and Data Visualization Analysts, fostering a culture of high performance, continuous learning, and innovation.
- Conduct performance reviews, set clear objectives, and support the professional growth and career development of team members.
- Manage resource allocation, workload distribution, and project assignments to ensure efficient utilization of team capabilities and timely delivery.
Stakeholder Engagement & Project Alignment:
- Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison for US-based business stakeholders, understanding their strategic objectives, business use cases, and data requirements.
- Translate complex business problems into clear, well-defined analytical and technical tasks for the team.
- Manage stakeholder expectations, communicate project progress, challenges, and successes effectively, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical solutions.
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and dependencies.
Technical Oversight & Quality Assurance:
- Provide technical guidance and oversight across data analysis, machine learning model development, and data visualization initiatives.
- Ensure the application of best practices in data quality, analytical methodologies, model governance, and visualization design.
- Review and validate analytical outputs, models, and visualizations to ensure accuracy, reliability, and adherence to established standards.
- Drive continuous improvement in team processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in data science, AI, and visualization, and evaluate their potential application within Siemens.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional Leadership & People Management: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop highly skilled technical teams, including performance management, coaching, and conflict resolution.
- Strong Technical Acumen: Solid understanding of the end-to-end data lifecycle, from data ingestion and cleaning to analysis, modeling, and visualization including familiarity with machine learning concepts, MLOps principles, and model deployment strategies.
- Cross-Cultural Communication & Collaboration: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with and influence diverse global stakeholders, particularly those in the US.
- Project & Program Management: Experience in managing complex data and AI projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and risk management, preferably with agile methodologies.
- Problem Solving & Strategic Thinking: Ability to analyze complex business problems, propose data-driven solutions, and think strategically about the long-term impact of analytical initiatives.
- Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to manage expectations, build strong relationships, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
- Adaptability & Resilience: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in Data Analysis, Data Science, Business Intelligence, or a related field.
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience in a leadership or team lead role, managing data analysts, data scientists, or similar technical teams.
- Experience working directly with US-based stakeholders and managing global team dynamics is essential.
