The Energy Services Business Development Manager (BDM) will lead sales initiatives to achieve bookings and revenue goals for Siemens Smart Infrastructure Buildings’ Energy Services business within the regional market (Philadelphia and surrounding area). This role focuses on driving energy efficiency, sustainability, and digital service growth, while collaborating across Siemens’ Building Automation, Solutions & Services, and Digital teams to develop holistic customer solutions.
As a Business Development Manager, you will:
- Identify, pursue, and capture new business opportunities utilizing Siemens’ Energy Services offerings - energy performance contracting, digital services, renewable integration, and sustainability solutions - across all key market segments in your region.
- Engage early with target customers to support adoption of sustainable and digital solutions such as Building X subscriptions, SBA, and energy optimization services.
- Develop and execute a strategic business plan for Energy Services bookings, pipeline development, account
- planning, and vertical market growth. Present pipeline status and forecasts to management via Siemens CRM tools.
- Collaborate with local, regional, and national teams - including Building Automation, Service, and Digital - to align strategies, share resources, and deliver integrated customer outcomes.
- Leverage utility incentive programs and energy market mechanisms to support customer project development and execution.
- Participate in industry trade shows, conferences, and professional associations to build Siemens’ visibility and network within the energy and sustainability markets.
- Train and support local sales teams on Energy Services portfolio updates, sustainability market trends, and new technology capabilities.
- Support proposal development and project pursuit efforts, ensuring scope, cost, and value propositions are aligned with customer objectives.
- Champion Siemens’ digital and sustainability initiatives, driving the expansion of Building X, SaaS subscriptions, and outcome-based service models.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation, providing market feedback on evolving energy solutions, technologies, and customer needs.
You will make an impact with these qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or state-recognized GED
- 10+ years of experience in sales, business development, project management or engineering within commercial buildings energy services, performance contracting, or building optimization solutions
- Knowledge of energy efficiency, sustainability, and digital building technologies, including utility programs and financing mechanisms
- Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for business analysis
- Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens’ fleet vehicle program
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in energy services, performance contracting, or building automation solutions sales
- Proven record of account management, pipeline development, and achievement of sales quotas in complex environments
- Familiarity with Building X, digital service offerings, or similar building performance platforms

The pay range for this position is $100,600 - $172,400 annually with a target incentive of 25% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
