About the Job
We are seeking a highly motivated Portfolio (Product & Technology) Finance Team Lead to join our Brightly Software organization. The role will partner closely with the Brightly Software SVP-Head of Product, SVP-Head of Technology and global product and technology organization to provide financial planning, controlling, analysis, and strategic insights that drive innovation and operational excellence. The ideal candidate has strong experience in SaaS businesses, R&D cost structures and financial leadership.
Additionally, together with the Product and Technology teams, this role will push the digitalization and automation of financial planning, controlling and reporting processes at Brightly to the next level.
What you will do
Portfolio Finance Team Lead
Role Overview: Partner with the SVP-Head of Product, SVP-Head of Technology and global product and technology organization to support all financial planning, forecasting, controlling and reconciliation of Software financial metrics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Lead planning, budgeting, forecasting, controlling and analysis for product and technology functions. Build and maintain financial models in an Agile manner to support data driven decision-making.
- Business Partnering: Act as a strategic financial partner to Product and Technology leadership, providing insights on cost optimizations, return on investment and resource allocation. Collaborate with the Product and Technology teams to align financial plans with product roadmaps.
- Software Cost Management: Provide financial oversight of software-related costs, including third party licenses and cloud infrastructure costs. Partner with the Product, Technology, Procurement and Cloud Operations teams to forecast, track and optimize software and cloud infrastructure spend. Provide financial support for newly introduced FinOps processes together with the Head of Global Cloud Operations.
- Headcount Management: Partner with Product, Technology and P&O teams to build and maintain accurate headcount plans that are aligned with the financial budget, forecasts and product roadmaps. Analyze open positions, hiring progress and attrition to ensure alignment with financial targets.
- Contractor Management: Partner with Product, Technology, P&O and Procurement teams to manage financial tracking and reporting for contractors, including cost forecasting and cost optimization.
- M&A Due Diligence & Financial Integration: Support financial due diligence and post-acquisition integration.
- Management Reporting: Prepare monthly / quarterly financial reports and variance analysis to drive and support data driven management decisions.
- Ad-hoc Reporting: Prepare ad-hoc reports such as R&D and ESG reports.
- Team Leadership: Manage a team of financial analysts to drive transparency, digitalization, automation and operational improvements, and incorporate AI in financial planning, reporting and analysis.
What you need
- 8+ years of experience in Software finance
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance or related field
- Experience with global software R&D operations.
- Software: Business Intelligence Tooling such Power BI, Tableau or similar, Salesforce, ERP Software, MS Office.
- Self-Driven and motivated professional, experienced with Financial Controlling and Modelling in a Software Business. Eager to learn and shape the controlling landscape at Brightly Software.
- Strong interpersonal skills, to motivate and facilitate discussions with collaborators from different teams / departments
- Outstanding communication skills, enthusiasm, and team-oriented demeanor
- Adept at establishing relationships with business partners and influencing at all levels

The pay range for this position is $102,459 - $175,644 annually with a target incentive of 15 of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
