We are looking for a part-time Application Center Engineer Intern. This position is remote.
You’ll make a difference by:
- Engaging in a wide range of functions related to applications engineering for discrete manufacturing systems
- Directly contributing to business outcomes for Siemens industrial automation and digitalization products
- Supporting senior applications engineers with projects, including but limited to:
- Assisting with ongoing customer projects (such as debugging, improving, and documenting customer programs or developing proof of concept specification systems)
- Documenting technical processes for training internal and external stakeholders
- Upgrading demo equipment or creating demos for new products and features
- Creating and expanding on technical and marketing collateral
You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters students: Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering/Technology, Computer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering/Technology (must be enrolled at the time of the internship).
- Ability to work part-time during the work week Monday – Friday.
- Technical expertise in automation, drives, and PLC-based motion control.
- Proficiency in programming across environments such as PLCs, Python, C/C++, Java, or web development.
- Strong stakeholder engagement mindset
- Effective written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
- Acute attention to detail, highly organized, self-motivated, and dedicated to quality and excellence.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Work Authorization: Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
- Experience with control systems, Ethernet networking, windows app development, power electronics, mechanical statics/dynamics and/or software simulation in an industrial automation setting.

The hourly pay range for this position $30.00 - $32.00 per hour, based off of your projected graduation year. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location. Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into our 401K program.
