Fire Alarm Commissioning Engineer
Location: This is a remote role with travel to customer sites around the Dublin / Leinster Region
The Fire Alarm Commissioning Engineer will be primally responsible for the commissioning of fire detection and alarm systems, assisting the service department with servicing and maintenance of fire detection, alarm and suppression systems. The role involves working on both standard and complex systems across commercial, industrial, and pharmaceutical projects where autonomous working is promoted.
Key Responsibilities
- Commission fire detection, alarm, and suppression systems to agreed specifications.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., IS 3218:2013 + A1:2019,:2024).
- Service and maintain fire systems.
- Provide expert advice during on-site inspections to support sales and design teams.
- Respond to emergency call out and service desk requests.
- Complete documentation including handover certificates, service reports, commissioning checklists and project reporting documentation.
- Maintain and account for tools, test equipment, and company property.
- Attend product training and maintain up-to-date knowledge of fire safety technologies.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in commissioning fire alarm systems.
- Strong knowledge of conventional and addressable fire alarm systems.
- Familiarity with all major fire alarm brands and air sampling systems.
- Full clean driving license.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Experience with graphics interface systems beneficial
Preferred:
- Electrical/Engineering background or qualifications beneficial.
- Experience working on large projects with complex fire strategies and deadline targets.
