Your Role:
As a Financial Project Manager, you will be a pivotal financial partner to our Project Managers, driving outstanding financial performance and transforming our electrification projects into financial triumphs. You will ensure the financial health and success of projects, contributing to the continuous improvement and sustained growth of our dynamic business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Project Management:
- Drive the financial performance of electrification projects by developing and managing comprehensive budgets, conducting accurate forecasting (revenue, margin, cash flow), and performing rigorous actual-versus-plan analysis.
- Define and monitor key financial KPIs to ensure business goals are consistently met and proactively identify opportunities for financial optimization.
- Ensure and provide accurate financial project accounting.
- Risk & Claims Oversight:
- Proactively identify potential financial risks and cost overruns, implementing effective mitigation strategies to prevent financial losses.
- Expertly manage and resolve claims in a timely and effective manner to protect the company's financial interests.
- Cost Optimization:
- Analyze and optimize project cost structures, identifying key cost drivers, and implementing strategies to enhance profitability throughout the project lifecycle, including the bidding process.
- Ensure proper cost booking and adherence to organizational financial standards.
- Commercial & Project Partnership:
- Serve as the primary financial partner to Project Managers, providing commercial expertise from offer preparation through project execution and closure.
- Analyze and negotiate contract terms, focusing on commercial aspects and deviations.
- Oversee the efficient commercial handling of customer orders, including accurate invoicing, reporting, and complaint processing, ensuring seamless internal handovers (sales to project, project to warranty/service).
What You Bring:
- Proven experience in financial project management, ideally within the energy, infrastructure, or a similar industrial sector.
- Strong expertise in financial accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Demonstrated ability in risk management and claims resolution.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies (agile and/or traditional environments).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and influencing skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across departments.
- Assertiveness and dealing with pressure are part of your strengths.
- Ability to read contracts, write and engage with stakeholders in fluent Dutch, French and English.
