As a Supplier Quality Engineer (f/m/d) for Merchandised Goods, you will ensure the quality and compliance of externally sourced components and materials for protection devices. You will work closely with suppliers, procurement, and engineering teams to drive quality performance and continuous improvement across global supply chains.

The position is to be filled on a part-time basis (ideally 25 hours/week) for a fixed term of two years.

You’ll make an impact by 

  • Supplier Quality Management
    • Monitor supplier performance (PPM, delivery quality, corrective actions).
    • Implement and maintain Supplier Quality Agreements.
    • Define inspection plans for merchandised goods (mechanical/electrical components, packaging).
    • Manage non-conformance reports and coordinate root cause analysis with suppliers.
  • Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement
    • Lead 8D, Ishikawa, and FMEA activities for supplier-related issues.
    • Drive preventive actions and process improvements at supplier sites.
  • Compliance & Documentation
    • Ensure adherence to ISO 9001, IEC standards, and Siemens internal quality requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: 
    • Work closely with Procurement, R&D, and Manufacturing teams.
    • Support new product introduction (NPI) and supplier onboarding.

Your defining qualities

  • Education: The basis of your success is a completed university degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering. Additionally, a Six Sigma Green Belt certification (or higher) and/or a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent would be a plus.
  • Experience & Skills
    • First years of professional experience in supplier quality or manufacturing quality roles.
    • Understanding of electrical and mechanical components used in protection devices, and familiarity with merchandised goods.
    • Ideally expertise in Quality Tools and Methods (APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA).
    • Familiarity with ISO 9001, IEC standards, and RoHS/REACH compliance.
    • Proficiency in SAP QM, MS Office, and quality reporting tools. Experience in digitalization initiatives and/or database tools would be a plus.
  • Ways of working
    • Strong communication, negotiation, and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
    • Proactive, analytical, and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
  • Languages: Proficiency in German and English is a must; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
