The Opportunity
Are you a passionate software engineer with a deep understanding of semiconductor manufacturing? We're looking for a talented Principal Software Engineer to join our innovative team. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of developing next-generation software solutions that empower our customers to achieve optimal results in their semiconductor processes. You'll play a crucial part in bridging customer needs with cutting-edge software capabilities, driving innovation, and ensuring our tools continue to set industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Product Definition & Strategy: Supporting the mask metrology and inspection product management teams in defining and driving new product features and capabilities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborating closely with software engineering, product marketing, and customer teams to ensure the successful development and deployment of next-generation metrology and inspection tools.
- Customer Enablement: Providing in-depth technical support and training to customers, ensuring they achieve optimal results with Siemens EDA solutions.
- Software Validation: Defining, characterizing, and validating new software capabilities to address the needs of next-generation semiconductor processes.
- Customer Advocacy: Acting as a technical liaison to communicate customer needs and challenges back to internal teams for continuous improvement of our tools.
- Documentation & Presentation: Documenting and presenting the value and benefits of new features and capabilities to internal stakeholders and external customers.
- Technical Innovation: Contributing to technical innovation through research and development of enabling software technologies for e-beam inspection and metrology.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate who meets the following qualifications:
- Education:
- A bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. in Physics, Optics, Microelectronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong interest in enabling software technology for e-beam inspection and metrology.
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems.
- Experience with TCL, Python scripting, and C programming is required.
- Industry Knowledge:
- Comprehensive understanding of semiconductor processing and lithography.
- Expertise in metrology or inspection within wafer fabs is preferred.
- Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of industry experience in metrology or inspection is required.
- Communication Skills:
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills to effectively collaborate and present technical information to diverse audiences.

The pay range for this position is 154,200 - 277,600 annually with a target incentive of 10-15 of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
