Your Impact on the Team:

We are looking for a Senior Power Systems Consultant to join our Power Technologies International (PTI) team within Grid Software. This role is critical to the planning and integration of renewables, storage, and FACTS into the electrical grid.

As a Senior Consultant, you will lead and perform large-scale simulations of electrical transmission systems for key clients such as Utilities, Regional Transmission Organizations, and energy asset owners. Your expertise will be vital in developing advanced solutions for safe, reliable, and efficient power system operations, directly influencing grid modernization and the energy transition.

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Mexico.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Lead and perform complex consulting engagements related to power grid analysis and design, system dynamics and transients, system interconnection studies, and grid code compliance.
  • Manage project execution, including tracking progress, making necessary adjustments to maintain scope, schedule, budget, and quality, and ensuring successful project delivery.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and identify opportunities for further business development.
  • Support proposal preparation by developing comprehensive project plans, budgets, and timelines for new engagements.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and development to junior consultants, fostering their growth and expertise.
  • Develop advanced automation scripts and tools to streamline repetitive tasks, reduce errors, and significantly boost overall efficiency in analyses.
  • Deliver expert on-site consulting and specialized training services to clients.
  • Utilize and leverage advanced features of industry-leading tools such as PSSE for in-depth power flow, short-circuit, and transient stability analyses, among others.

What we're looking for (Minimum Requirements):

  • Postgraduate degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power and Energy Systems.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience performing power systems analysis for electric utilities, ISOs, RTOs, and/or developers.
  • Extensive and demonstrated experience analyzing power flow and dynamic stability using PSS®E (PSSE). Experience with other tools like TSAT™, TARA, PSLF™, or PowerWorld is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Reliability Standards with a deep understanding of RTO and other regional planning criteria, procedures, and practices.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and listening skills with a proven ability to write effective, high-quality technical reports and present complex findings clearly.
  • Ability to travel 10% domestically and internationally.
  • Advanced English proficiency (conversational and technical) is essential for client interactions and documentation.

It would be a plus if you have (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Prior experience in Power System Consulting, particularly in a leadership or senior technical role.
  • Industry experience performing power system transient analysis using PSCAD™ or EMTP-RV.
  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power and Energy Systems.
  • Proven track record in project management and client relationship management.
  • Advanced programming skills (Python, MATLAB) for complex automation, modeling, and data post-processing.
