Job title: Head, Global Service Operations 

  
About the role:

You will be part of “Gas Services Product Development” management team within ‘Siemens Energy India Limited’, India and functionally report to ‘Global Service operation – Engineering support’ management team. You will be implementing & supporting the “Gas Services – Global Service Operation” business strategies, objective & vision according to local India country policy. 
You will be at the helm of the “Global Service Operation” team, comprising over 50 employees, who provide support for the ‘Service Engineering’, ‘Product Integrity’, and ‘Remote Monitoring & Diagnostics Services’ functions within the Gas Services Division of Siemens Energy. You guide, nurture, and inspire a team of committed and skilled employees within the local engineering organization, contributing to the global engineering efforts aimed at enhancing global competitiveness. In this role:

  • You will support your team in providing solutions to the power plant service fleet. You will support strategic initiatives aimed at improving responsiveness, productivity, and expertise.  
  • You will engage in enhancing the economic performance of power plant operations by integrating cutting-edge technology into our products and solutions, addressing both current and future energy system needs. 
  • Your day will involve developing and executing modernization and upgrade projects, implementing decarbonization solutions, and developing long-term service concepts for existing power plants. 
  • You will work with a global team collaborating with a global network of interface partners to successfully implement projects on customer sites. 
  • You will be responsible for setting up and maintaining state-of-the-art data connections to high value power assets.
  • You acquire and analyze operational and parts data for a global fleet of large-scale power plants and you have the opportunity to optimize the operation of these plants in close contact with the plant operators.

Your new role – Challenging and future oriented 

  • Work closely with the global service operation engineering team to provide timely, high-quality support for the service fleet. 
  • Foster and nurture a service-oriented culture within the team to accelerate decision-making while maintaining high standards of quality
  • Execute governance within the assigned part of the organization, collaborating locally and globally as needed according to country policy
  • Help define function-related strategies, policies and guidelines and continuously expand competencies and capabilities of the organization to support existing and future needs of global stakeholders and customers and cultivate a local innovation culture and ecosystem. 
  • Establish and commit to a long-term business direction based on analysis of systemic information and consideration of resources, market drivers, organization values, and emerging economic, technological, and regulatory conditions.
  • Ensure that the internal or external customer’s perspective is a driving force behind strategic priorities, business decision, organizational process, and individual activities. Craft and implement service practices that meet customers’ and own organization’s needs. Promote and operationalize customer service as a value. 
  • Drive organization and cultural changes needed to achieve strategic objectives. Catalyze new approaches such as digitalization to improve results by transforming organizational culture, systems, products and services. Help others overcome resistance to change.

What you bring (Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience): 

  • Ph.D, master’s or bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (or relevant field) with 10+ years in the power generation industry, including management experience.
  • Preferred experience in the design, analysis, service and maintenance of turbo machinery, along with strong decision making and project management skills
  • Gas Turbine Technology, Combined Cycle and Process Engineering Knowledge, Good Understanding of Decarbonization Technologies, Plant Maintenance Concepts etc. 
  • Excellent presentation and communication abilities to engage with various stakeholders, articulating complex issues clearly
  • Advance experience in developing strategic plans, with transformation leadership skills to motivate teams and ensure accountability 
  • Ability to empower and guide teams, create development plans, and effectively lead and collaborate in team settings 
  • Willingness to challenge the status quo in an open and trustful manner to continuously improve.
