The project engineer is responsible for the installation, testing, and commissioning of signaling systems in rail projects. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure systems are implemented efficiently and according to Siemens standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices. This position requires working in various environments, including on-site rail project locations, may involve occasional lifting and moving of heavy equipment, requires adapting to night shift work schedules, and a strong commitment to maintaining a safe working environment at all times.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and execute the installation of signaling systems, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers involved in the installation process.
  • Develop and implement test plans to ensure the quality and functionality of signaling systems.
  • Perform on-site testing of signaling equipment and resolve any discrepancies identified during testing.
  • Ensure all commissioning activities comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and Siemens safety protocols.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols during installation and testing.
  • Conduct safety assessments and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks associated with the installation and testing process.
  • Promote a culture of safety, ensuring that all team members are aware of and follow safety practices.
  • Prepare detailed commissioning reports and documentation, capturing test results and performance of the signaling systems.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of installation activities and system performance.
  • Collaborate with project managers and site manager to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Assist in the identification and mitigation of project risks related to installation and commissioning activities.
  • Provide technical support and training to clients and internal teams related to signaling systems.
  • Address technical issues promptly and provide solutions to improve system reliability and performance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in signaling or rail industry-related installations and commissioning.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and experience in implementing safety practices.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel, adapt to night shift work, and work on-site as required.
