Group Lead Transportation Equipment Operator

Position Overview:
As a Group Lead Transportation Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for leading a team to transport different Carshells between production buildings safely and on schedule.
What your day may look like:
- Monitors employees' safety, quality, methods, and output.
- Provides work assignments and work instructions to employees throughout each workday.
- Assists and trains employees in new job assignments and equipment operations.
- Coordinates work schedules with other Group Leaders and/or Supervisors and maintains work status.
- Performs quality checks on work being performed.
- Keeps supervision informed of work plans, status, and employee performance.
- Prepares and/or reviews employee time sheets and other labor input documents.
- Assists the supervisor in conducting regular safety meetings.
- Meets production and transportation schedule with minimum supervision.
What you will need to be successful:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Full understanding of equipment operations and safety procedures.
- Knowledge of rigging, securing best practices, and verifying dimensions from manufacturing drawings.
- Strong understanding of tolerances and ensuring proper load securing, transport, loading, and unloading processes.
- Ability to read and interpret all gauges on specialty equipment.
- Minimum two years of experience in heavy equipment operations.
- Ability to complete shop order documentation and time sheets accurately.
- Basic computer skills, including Outlook and PowerApps.
- Basic English skills — able to read/understand written instructions and communicate verbally.
- one and small group settings to customers, clients, and coworkers.
We would be impressed if you have
· Previous experience in supervising people in transportation, construction, or heavy equipment operation field

- Frequently walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Frequently required to climb stairs, steps, and ladders
- Frequently required to work on elevated platforms.
- Perform work overhead.
- Occasionally lift and move at most 40 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This position is located in Sacramento, CA. The starting hourly range for this position is $37.07. This position is 3rd shift and will qualify for the 20% shift differential. This role offers the opportunity for overtime work based upon the needs of the business. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
