Siemens Smart Infrastructure, Electrification & Automation (EA) business unit is headquartered in Wendell, NC. The EA Business Unit has a diverse portfolio of products, including, but not limited to, low-voltage MCC, CMR fuse saver, MV switchgear, MV circuit breakers, and metering, power monitoring, power quality, and protective relay maintenance and systems of a standard nature.
We are looking for a Production Manager. This position will be based in Wendell, NC. Relocation assistance is available.
We are seeking a Production Manager for our Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit, with a focus on the Products, Protection & Automation (PPA) business segment located in Wendell, NC. This role will manage both the RER (Repair, Evaluation & Return) and SIPROTEC 5 added-value technician teams, ensuring high output, exceptional quality, and reliable service to our utility and industrial customers.
You will oversee daily activities for both the RER and SIPROTEC 5 added-value teams, managing workforce, workflows, equipment, and process governance to support a rapidly scaling, high‑complexity protection products business. This includes managing incoming repairs, software staging of new units, diagnostic workflows, functional testing, and cross-functional coordination with engineering, logistics, and quality.
This role reports to the Focus Factory Plant Manager for the PPA (Products, Protection and Automation) business segment.

You’ll make an impact by:
- Design and manage end-to-end workflows for incoming repairs (RMA) and new units requiring SIPROTEC 5 software staging and configuration.
- Prioritize emergency utility repairs while maintaining throughput on the SIPROTEC software loading line.
- Lead and allocate resources—workforce and critical equipment (test sets, servers, labeling stations)—to meet fluctuating demand peaks.
- Ensure technical governance and quality, including firmware compliance, cybersecurity standards, and full automated functional testing before shipment.
- Drive performance and continuous improvement, monitoring cycle time, first-pass yield, and leveraging SharePoint/Salesforce for KPI tracking and documentation.
- Oversee budget and compliance, including spare parts inventory, ESD-safe environment, OSHA standards, and ongoing training for SIPROTEC 5, DIGSI 5, and safety protocols.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, electronics, industrial technology, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience managing operations in a manufacturing or repair environment.
- Hands‑on experience with electronic assembly, diagnostics, or protective relay technologies.
- Proficiency with SAP, SharePoint, and standard office tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience with protection relays (SIPROTEC, SEL, GE, ABB, or equivalent).
- Working knowledge of:
- DIGSI 5 software
- Automated relay test sets
- ESD safety management
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams through growth, change, and increasing complexity.
- Ability to manage urgent customer issues and maintain professionalism under pressure.

The pay range for this position is $83,966 - $143,942 annually with a target incentive of 5% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
