Production Supervisor – Wheelset Assembly / Bogies

We are looking for Production Supervisor – Wheelset Assembly / Bogies
You’ll make a difference by
Bogie assy. integrating the sub assy. parts – Wheelset, painted frame, brake assy. buffer, antiroll bar, suspension assy. Bogie pneumatic testing, Bogie load testing & electric testing.
- Production & Process Control
- Supervise wheelset & Bogie assembly operations including wheel pressing, gauging, machining coordination, and final inspection. Bogie assy. operation.
- Ensure assembly parameters such as: Wheel back-to-back distance, Press-fit forces, Axial run-out, radial run-out, Wheel seat dimensions are strictly maintained as per EN 13260 and approved drawings.
- Monitor daily production targets and ensure adherence to production schedules.
- Quality & Standards Compliance
- Ensure all wheelsets meet EN 13260, customer technical specifications, and IRIS/ISO requirements.
- Verify availability and correctness of - Work instructions, Control plans, Inspection check sheets
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance for in-process and final inspections.
- Handle non-conformities, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Quality & Standards Compliance
- Ensure all wheelsets meet EN 13260, customer technical specifications, and IRIS/ISO requirements.
- Verify availability and correctness of - Work instructions, Control plans, Inspection check sheets
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance for in-process and final inspections.
- Handle non-conformities, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Manpower & Shop Floor Management
- Allocate manpower effectively based on skill and workload.
- Train operators on - EN 13260 requirements, Wheel press operation, Gauging and inspection methods
- Monitor discipline, attendance, and productivity of shop-floor staff.
- Equipment & Tooling Control
- Ensure availability and calibration validity of - Wheel press machines, Gauges and measuring instruments, Fixtures and handling tools
- Coordinate with Maintenance for breakdowns, preventive maintenance, and machine health checks.
- Documentation & Traceability
- Ensure proper documentation and traceability include - Wheel and axle serial numbers, Pressing records, Inspection and test reports
- Maintain production logs, rejection data, and shift reports.
- Continuous Improvement
- Drive 5S, Kaizen, and lean manufacturing initiatives in the wheelset area.

- Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of wheelset assembly and EN 13260 requirements
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings & tolerances
- Hands-on experience with wheel press operations
- Leadership and shop-floor coordination skills

- Qualification & Experience
- Diploma / BE / BTech in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering.
- 5–10 years of experience in railway wheelset or bogie manufacturing
- Prior exposure to EN 13260 / UIC / IRIS standards preferred.
