What will you do?
Siemens Smart Infrastructure is currently searching for a dynamic sales professional for our Building Automation Solutions (Construction) Sales team. The primary responsibility of this role is to promote Siemens strong market position for delivering smart building technology to help our customers create outstanding experiences for their customers. In this position, you will achieve booking and profit goals by developing and implementing plans to grow, develop, and manage contractor, consultant, developer, and end-user relationships; capitalize on sales opportunities within the territory; and effectively execute sophisticated deals independently within our established guidelines.
RESPONIBILITIES:
Market & Industry Expertise
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the marketplace, competitor offerings, customers, and decision influencers across the region, segments, and verticals within the region.
- Keep current on automation, electrical, fire, mechanical, and IoT market business and product trends.
- Actively participate in sales department meetings, workshops, and seminars to stay knowledgeable on current market, business, and product trends.
- Attend industry-specific networking events; actively participate in professional organizations such as ASHRAE, BOMA, I2SL, etc. to build a network of contacts and to represent Siemens in the market.
Sales Strategy & Business Development
- Develop a geographic and vertical market account management plan that focuses on strategic growth. Identify new business opportunities to grow in new markets or adjacent segments and develop “go to market” strategies to drive business to the standard construction channel and the end user customer.
- Develop and maintain a qualified funnel of opportunities.
- Achieve new order/booking and profit goals.
- Deliver on forecasted results consistently.
- Partner with other sales division teams to plan, target, and acquire new projects and accounts.
- Influence new construction specifications by developing relationships with consulting engineers.
- Position Siemens as an industry leader among service providers, leveraging Siemens world-class digital service delivery as a key differentiator.
Customer Engagement & Relationship Management
- Work jointly with the multiple levels of the customer’s organization to understand and document their business goals and success metrics.
- Develop value-based proposals, estimates, specifications, and presentations.
- Work with operations, finance, legal and other inside and outside resources to obtain the sale.
Project Delivery & Operational Collaboration
- Collaborate with operations and internal teams to deliver excellent customer outcomes.
- Follow through on sold projects to ensure satisfactory completion. Ensure a smooth sales-to-operations turnover and monitor project execution. Assist in resolving installation, collections, and other customer satisfaction issues as needed.
Travel: Travel overnight up to 10% for training and business development.
Territory: Vancouver, British Columbia
What will you need to succeed?
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered.
Professional Experience & Technical Knowledge:
- Ideally 8+ years of sales experience in building automation or a related field. Will consider less experienced profiles.
- Experience in sales, business development, or account management, ideally within building automation, HVAC, construction, or related technical environments. (preferred)
- Demonstrated success managing a sales territory, developing a pipeline, and achieving booking and profit targets.
- Experience selling to contractors and engineers.
- Demonstrable understanding of how to market, position, and sell cloud-based, data-driven service programs such as fault detection and diagnostics to existing and new customers preferred.
- Financial expertise to estimate and sell technical solutions and service product lines effectively and independently.
- Familiarity with smart building technologies, IoT solutions, and industry trends.
- Ability to develop strategic account plans and identify new business opportunities.
- Skilled in value-based selling and creating compelling proposals.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience executing complex deals within established guidelines.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong ability to build and maintain relationships at multiple levels within customer organizations.
- Strong organizational and presentation skills. Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented.
Technology & Tools:
- Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Comfortable using digital tools and platforms that support the sales process.
Other Essential Requirements:
- A valid and unrestricted G/Class 5 driver’s licence and vehicle is required to participate in the Siemens Fleet Program for travel to customer sites within assigned region(s).
- Willingness to travel overnight up to 10% for training and business development.

Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience, and ranges between $ 80,000 - $100,000 CAD. In addition to base salary, this role includes participation in our Sales Incentive Plan, contingent on achievement of sales targets as defined and updated from time to time by the Company.
