BA Summer Internship – Free Cash Flow Transformation

This internship places you at the center of our Free Cash Flow (FCF) performance controlling within Siemens’ rapidly growing Software Business Unit.
You’ll work on high‑impact, strategic initiatives that influence how Siemens tacks and forecast cash, investments, and financial transparency across a multibillion‑dollar global software portfolio.
You will help to shape how we forecast, optimize, and digitally transform the FCF process—gaining exposure to senior leaders, innovative digital tools, and real‑world FP&A decision‑making.
Key Project: Free Cash Flow Transparency & Automation Initiative
You will support a strategic, future-oriented project designed to re-shape how FCF is forecasted, analyzed, and reported in DI Software. Your work will directly to support decision-making at the senior leadership level.
Primary Project Goals
- Strengthen the FCF Outflows forecasting framework by enhancing data quality, redesigning analytical methodologies, and redefining core forecasting processes to improve accuracy and usability.
- Perform deep‑dive analysis of key Cash Flow drivers—including payment terms, CAPEX, and OPEX cash conversion cycles—to identify structural improvement opportunities and recommend actionable optimization levers.
- Accelerate digitalization of FCF processes by piloting automation and visualization solutions using Tableau, Power BI, Excel automation, AI copilots, and workflow tools to increase efficiency and insight generation.
- Rebuild and modernize the FCF insights dashboard, delivering an intuitive, executive‑ready tool that improves transparency and supports decision‑making across FP&A, Business Operations, and Executive Leadership.
- Support CAPEX cash planning and governance during the Business Unit’s annual and long-term planning cycles, including evaluation of investment cash profiles and integration into the broader FCF outlook.

The hourly range for this position is $18.00 to $50.00. Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location, as well as degree type and relevant education. The hourly pay range for this position is 18-50 per hour for first time Interns or 18-50 per hour for returning Interns. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location. Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into our 401K program.
