Field Service Engineer (Motion Control) – Karachi, Pakistan

A Siemens Field Service Engineer for motion control is a technical expert responsible for engineering, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Siemens automation and drive systems for customers. This role requires a strong background in electrical engineering, experience with Siemens motion control applications, and the ability to provide on-site technical support and training for a variety of industrial applications in various industries, including Cranes, Glass, Steel, Cement, W&WW, Petrochemicals, Oil & Gas, etc.

Job Responsibilities

• On-site support for the commission, diagnose, and maintenance of Siemens automation and control systems, often including drives and motors.
• Commissioning machines, debugging complex drives and motion control systems and machine processes, testing and tuning technology functions, and optimizing machine performance.
• Ensure all work and activities comply with Siemens standards, safety protocols, and industry regulations.
• Applying acquired process, product and/or equipment knowledge based on current industry trends, best practices, performance, price and functionality.
• Intense customers focus and uses customer information for improvement in products and service.
• Work with project and engineering teams on system design, project planning, and cost estimates. Providing technical support for the front-end sales organization in meetings, presentations, and negotiations.
• Deliver technical support and training to customers on Siemens technologies.
• Project Management experience is preferred.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics.
• 5+ years of experience in automation/motion control systems with direct PLC programming experience.
• 5+ years of experience in Siemens VFD system design, selection, configuration, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English
• In depth knowledge of Cranes Applications, Water and Wastewater process, Petrochemical processes, and Oil & Gas processes

• Motion Control and Drives
• Knowledge of motor selection and application
• Engineering and implementation of Drive Technology applications mainly based on SINAMICS Drive Control Chart (DCC) or Open Architecture (OA / SINAMICS TEC)    
• SIMOTION SCOUT, SCOUT standalone and SCOUT TIA
• SIMATIC S7-400, S7-300, S7-1200 PLC Systems
• WinCC SCADA System
