We have an exciting new opportunity to join Siemens Mobility as an Environment and Sustainability Advisor in our Central Functions business and based at our Chippenham office. In this role, you will support the implementation of environmental and environmental sustainability requirements across designated region(s) or project(s), including contributing to the development and execution of related corporate workstreams as needed. These focus areas may include environmental topics such as ecology, contaminated land, waste, water and pollution prevention; environmental sustainability topics such as sustainable procurement, community engagement, diversity and carbon management.

You’ll make an impact by

  • Facilitating the development of manufacturing specific environment and environmental sustainability documentation in line with business needs, legislation and specific client requirements for e.g Environment Management Plans (EMP/ESMPs), Environment and Social Risk Assessments (ESRAs) and Site Waste Management Plans (SWMPs)
  • Integrating environmental and environmental sustainability deliverables i.e (key documentation, data collection and reporting, training etc) within manufacturing activities
  • Managing and undertaking environmental inspections and audits of production areas/offices/sites/depots (including in other regions as required)
  • Being the lead technical support for any environmental incident investigations
  • Ensuring production teams are aware of and have appropriately programmed for management of environment and social issues especially those related to permits, licences and consents
  • Identifying and assisting with the implementation of manufacturing-level environmental and environmental sustainability opportunities

Your success will be grounded by

  • Degree or Diploma in Environmental or relevant sustainability field
  • Membership of a relevant professional organisation (ISEP, CIWE, IES)
  • Current Membership of ISEP (or clear timeline to achieving or the equivalent) – Advisor – Practitioner level
  • Experience in an environmental or relevant sustainability field within the manufacturing and/or rail industry
  • Ability to provide guidance and constructive feedback to colleagues on environmental and relevant sustainability issues
