Siemens Digital Industries Software is a global technology powerhouse. With some of the best-known brands in the world, Siemens has stood for engineering excellence, innovation, quality, and reliability for more than 175 years.

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer to join our Brightly team in Cairo, Egypt.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the design and building of innovative and high-performing features for next-generation software applications.
  • Apply deep knowledge of computer science and programming principles, combined with professional experience, to create innovative solutions.
  • Develop, integrate, and document libraries and frameworks that enable scalable development across multiple projects — delivering common services and components within defined scope, cost, time, and quality constraints.
  • Build and track quality throughout the agile product lifecycle, including requirements, design, coding, testing, delivery, and support.
  • Write and maintain clear, scalable full-stack solutions that adhere to or enhance existing standards, within a professional software engineering environment (source control, short release cycles, continuous integration/deployment, etc.).
  • Understand and communicate company goals and metrics, aligning them with the team’s technical objectives.
  • Advise product owners and UX teams on technical feasibility; collaborate in translating user requirements into technical specifications and participate in product planning sessions as a technical SME.
  • Support products by identifying and resolving the root causes of production incidents, and take ownership of troubleshooting and resolution across teams.
  • Take ownership of product quality and ensure quick resolution of production defects.
  • Promote and embed a DevOps mentality within the team.
  • Demonstrate data-driven analysis and pragmatic decision-making aligned with business and technology needs; address immediate issues while planning long-term solutions.
  • Stay up to date with current trends and advancements in technology.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, development managers, product managers, and agile coaches across global teams in an agile environment.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives through metrics and feedback; embrace change and complexity, learn quickly, adapt fast, and be a change leader.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with web development using C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core, and JavaScript frameworks, along with UI/UX technologies.
  • Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms, object-oriented programming (OOP), databases, SQL, web programming, design patterns, and SOLID principles.
  • Experience with REST services, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), and microservices.
  • Hands-on experience with unit testing, mocking frameworks, and automation frameworks.
  • Strong DevOps mindset and experience working in a mature CI/CD environment.
  • Skilled in implementing exception handling, event logging, and performance measurement.
  • Experience working with agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, partnership, and influencing skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with AWS Services
  • Experience with Container technology
  • Open-source contributions, repositories, personal projects
  • Participation in communities of interest, meetups
  • Certifications in technology, agile methodologies
  • Prior experience in agile implemented at scale across multiple teams globally
