Regional Manager Customer Services - Payroll Operations (m/f/d)

Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement regional payroll strategies aligned with global business objectives
- Support and lead the standardization and optimization of payroll processes across a number of countries in Europe aligned with global processes
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy
- Establish and monitor KPIs for payroll operations and global standard SOC controls
- Support with payroll budget and cost optimization initiatives
2. Operational Excellence
- Oversee end-to-end payroll operations for multiple countries across Europe
- Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing for all employees in the region
- Implement and maintain payroll controls and compliance frameworks
- Monitor payroll system performance and coordinate with required parties (local teams, vendors, local IT, etc) for improvements
3. Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations across all countries
- Stay updated with changing legislation affecting payroll in different jurisdictions
- Oversee with tax authorities and external auditors and act as escalation point when required
- Manage risk assessment and mitigation strategies for payroll operations
- Oversee internal and external audit processes
4. Vendor Management
- Support and oversee RFP processes for payroll service providers
- Manage relationships with payroll vendors and service providers
- Monitor vendor performance and SLA compliance
- Negotiate contracts and terms with service providers
- Coordinate system implementations and upgrades
5. Team Leadership and stakeholder Management
- Act as escalation point
- Provide leadership and guidance to regional payroll teams
- Collaborate with Finance, HR, and other departments on payroll-related initiatives
- Cooperate with relationships with works councils and employee representatives
- Support communication strategies for payroll-related changes
6. Project Management
- Oversee payroll transformation projects
- Oversee process improvement initiatives
- Support change management efforts for payroll-related changes
7. Quality Assurance
- Develop and implement quality control measures
- Monitor accuracy rates and error trends
- Establish review procedures for high-risk transactions
- Implement validation processes for payroll outputs
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in international payroll management
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems and technologies (market practices, vendors, etc).
