Join our Sustainable Buildings and Grids team at Siemens Foundational Technologies, a cornerstone of Siemens. We are seeking an advanced modeling and simulation expert focused on medium-voltage (MV) to low-voltage (LV) power distribution systems for mission-critical infrastructure, such as data centers and industrial facilities.

In this role you will work a hybrid or remote work model out of our Princeton, NJ office location.
Ideal candidates possess a PhD in Electrical Engineering with deep expertise in power system simulation, protection, and/or power electronics. Professionals with a Master’s may be considered provided they meet key technical criteria.
Responsibilities:
- Model, simulate, and analyze MV and LV power distribution systems using advanced tools (e.g., PSCAD, MATLAB/Simulink, OpenDSS)
- Conduct phasor and electromagnetic transient (EMT) analyses to ensure resilience, reliability, and performance in microgrids, data centers, and industrial settings
- Perform detailed studies on protection coordination, system stability, and integration of advanced power electronics and control schemes
- Develop and maintain accurate models, validate results, and prepare clear technical documentation
- Support technology roadmapping, pre-development of products and features, and contribute to strategic technology decisions for Siemens business units globally
- Collaborate across diverse, multidisciplinary teams to drive high-impact solutions and new business opportunities
Basic Qualifications:
- PhD in Electrical Engineering (focus on protection, or power electronics preferred); Master’s with strong relevant experience considered
- Expert proficiency with PSCAD; practical experience in EMT and phasor-based modeling and simulation
- Hands-on experience with medium-voltage and low-voltage distribution system simulations for complex industrial systems
- Programming/scripting for automation and model management (e.g., Python, MATLAB)
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in protection systems (relay coordination, fault analysis) and power electronics modeling is highly desirable
- Collaborative mindset; thrives in multicultural teams and values diverse perspectives

The pay range for this position is $112,669 - $ 193,147 annually with a target incentive of 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
