Then come and join our global team as Head (f/m/d) of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) for Mechatronic Products within Technology Excellence (TE MP). In this role, you will manage a technology and product development portfolio for different medical applications like Angiography, Fluoroscopy, Magnetic Resonance and Laboratory Diagnostics to provide innovative and reliable solutions for our partners. You will establish and implement a product development strategy aligned with our corporate goals, ensuring timely commercialization of competitive solutions tailored to key markets.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • You hold global responsibility for Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), overseeing nine departments with more than 280 employees across Kemnath, Germany, and Shanghai, China.
  • You define the PLM strategy for Mechatronic Products (MP), including an optimized global footprint, and develop a cost-effective, high-quality development portfolio in close collaboration with our Shanghai site.
  • You drive effective portfolio and R&D management in alignment with Business Lines and relevant stakeholders ensuring coverage across the entire product lifecycle.
  • You lead global technology and innovation initiatives for PLM/R&D, maintaining competitiveness through benchmarking against direct competitors and comparable R&D centers.
  • You promote R&D collaboration and process harmonization, working closely with the management team to align strategies and execution.
  • You actively contribute to the Hoshin Kanri target of Technology Excellence and implement initiatives that enhance Siemens Healthineers’ profitability and operational excellence.
  • You represent PLM within the Siemens Healthineers TE MP management team and foster strategic connections between MP PLM and other business units to maximize enterprise-wide value.
  • You represent MP R&D in various boards and communities beyond MP, strengthening collaboration between MP PLM and other Siemens Healthineers units.
  • You define and manage MP PLM’s collaboration strategy with key partners, including research institutes, engineering firms, and universities.
  • You cultivate a high-performing, diverse leadership team and champion employee engagement.
  • You define and execute the PLM people strategy, support capability development, and actively manage talent and succession planning within your organization.

Your qualifications and experience:
  • You hold a university degree in Engineering, Science, Management, or a comparable field
  • You have 10+ years of experience in leading large R&D teams (including managing managers)
  • Ideally, you have a strong background in project management within medical technology development
  • You possess extensive experience in the development and industrialization of mechatronic systems, covering drive and control technologies, sensor integration, and interdisciplinary collaboration between R&D and production
  • You have a solid understanding and long-standing experience in target costing and cost-conscious product development.
  • Your profile is distinguished by deep expertise in system integration, testing methodologies, and automation
  • You have a proven track record of managing global R&D teams across borders and actively collaborating within international supplier & partner- networks.
