We are looking for Project Procurement Manager – Customer Services (Global/India)

As a Project Procurement Manager, you'll be at the heart of our rail vehicles service projects, ensuring we have the right materials and services, at the right time, and at the right cost.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Strategic Global Sourcing & Supplier Management: Develop and implement global procurement strategies for complex train service projects, with focus on bogies, identifying key suppliers and building a strong international supplier base focused on quality and reliability for parts, maintenance, and overhaul services.
- Value-Driven Negotiation & Cost Optimization: Leading negotiations to secure optimal terms, conditions, and pricing, driving continuous cost-saving initiatives and value engineering while upholding stringent quality standards.
- Project & Risk Management: Integrate procurement activities into project timelines, collaborating closely with project managers and engineering teams, and proactively identifying/mitigating risks to enhance project efficiency and profitability.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a key interface, ensuring smooth communication and alignment among international project teams, engineering, sales, legal, and logistics stakeholders.
- Contract Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire contract lifecycle, from drafting and execution to monitoring, ensuring compliance with Siemens policies and legal requirements.
- Cultural Connection & Partnership Building: Bridge communication gaps and foster strong relationships with diverse internal and external partners across various time zones and cultural backgrounds, especially for European projects.
Desired Skills:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master's degree would be beneficial!
- Procurement Expertise: Significant professional experience (typically 8-12 years) in project procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management within a complex industrial environment.
- Rail Industry Insight (Crucial!): Demonstrated, in-depth experience within the Rail and/or Locomotive industry, specifically in customer services, aftermarket, or MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) procurement. You know your way around a locomotive/train!
- Global Project Experience: Proven track record of managing procurement for international projects, with a strong understanding of global supply chains, customs, and logistics, particularly in a European context.
- Communication Champion: Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills in English (both written and verbal). You can articulate complex ideas clearly, influence stakeholders, and build rapport effortlessly across cultures.
- Strategic Negotiator & Analytical Problem-Solver: Leverage strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to inform superior negotiation and influencing skills, consistently achieving favorable, data-driven outcomes in complex and challenging situations.
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency in SAP or other major ERP systems, and comfortable with procurement-specific software and tools.
- Collaborative, proactive Drive: A results-oriented self-starter who adeptly manages multiple priorities and delivers under pressure, while also embodying a collaborative spirit to foster cross-departmental and teamwork within multicultural, matrix organizations.
- Travel Ready: Willingness to travel national and international as required to meet with suppliers and project teams (approximately 15-20%).
