Automatic Train Operations (ATO) constitute a core element for the reliable and efficient operation of the rapidly expanding local and long-distance rail services. The central function of the ATO system is to control and regulate various types of rolling stock—ranging from metro trains and freight trains to high-speed trains—in accordance with route conditions and timetables. Punctuality and energy efficiency are of paramount importance in this context.
What do you contribute?
- Analyzing complex customer requirements independently and adapting the ATO system for optimal integration into the overall solution, acting as a driving force for successful outcomes.
- Developing and implementing challenging, tailored functions to continuously enhance the ATO product, closely collaborating with architecture, testing, and validation teams, while setting technical standards and ensuring solution quality.
- Serving as the primary contact person for the ATO system in customer projects, coordinating with international stakeholders, managing complex interfaces, and ensuring smooth execution and successful delivery on-site.
- Managing multiple customer projects simultaneously, prioritizing team objectives, and ensuring all project commitments are fulfilled on time.
- Sharing expertise within the team, coaching and mentoring younger colleagues, and contributing to the establishment of best practices and improvement of development processes.
- Using exceptional communication skills to challenge the status quo constructively, bringing in new ideas, and driving the advancement of both the team and technological solutions.
What do you bring along?
- You hold a degree in a technical field such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Moreover, you have significant professional experience in developing and implementing autonomous systems.
- You stand out with expertise in model-based and adaptive control techniques, as well as state estimation methodologies.
- Furthermore, you have programming skills and a passion for continuously expanding your knowledge in this domain.
- You bring proven project experience and excel in coordinating international teams and stakeholders.
- You have practical experience with Control Systems and within the rail technology sector.
- In addition to strong German skills, you communicate confidently in English and enjoy working in international teams.
