We are looking for Brake System Engineer | System Engineer – Brake and Air Supply

You’ll make a difference by

  • System Design & Architecture: Define system architecture and interfaces for brake and air generation systems.
  • o Perform system-level calculations (braking distances, compressor sizing, etc.).
  • o Validate and approve pneumatic and electrical diagrams for braking and AGTU
  • functions.
  • Specification & Documentation: Prepare and maintain technical specifications, interface control documents (ICDs), functional specifications, and pneumatic circuit diagrams.
  • o Ensure compliance with relevant international standards (IEC, UIC, EN, ISO) and
  • customer specifications.
  • o Converting customer and internal requirements into design specifications.
  • Product Development & Integration: Collaborate closely with suppliers, sourcing, manufacturing, Commissioning and quality teams.
  • o Lead all internal and external interface-related topics, including mechanical, electrical,
  • pneumatic, and software communication parameters aspects.
  • o Support the integration of the brake system with train control, bogie, and vehicle
  • architecture.
  • o Develop and maintain technical documentation, get design approvals from customer.
  • o Participate in supplier evaluation and 2nd source development with procurement team
  • Validation & Testing: Develop system-level test specification, software test specification, lab functional test and support testing & commissioning activities.
  • o Analyse test results, manage deviations, and verify performance against requirements.
  • o Participate type test/FAI and validation activities for the subsystem at supplier facilities
  • and during static and dynamic train level testing.
  • o Support maintenance procedures and troubleshooting activities
  • o Understanding of validation criteria and alignment with customer requirements
  • Compliance & Safety: Support FMEA, RAMS studies to ensure functional safety and system reliability with RAMS team.
  • o Performing train system FMECA in coordination with RAMS team.
  • o Ensure compliance with railway safety standards and regulations.
  • o Support & knowledge of independent Safety assessment procedure at train level
  • Project Coordination: Liaise with cross-functional and cross-location teams including customers, suppliers, and certification bodies.
  • o Provide regular updates to project stakeholders on technical status, risks, and
  • mitigation plans.
  • o Adherence to Engineering Budget, Planning, Cost and Target Dates
  • Internal Process & Responsibilities: Participation and completion of internal quality milestones and technical reviews
  • o Continuous development of competence and mentoring to team members
  • o Familiar with Requirements, configuration and change management process

Desired Skills:

  • You have successfully completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical/mechatronics engineering or related field.
  • You bring along relevant experience of 8 to 10 years in the field of Brake system and Air
  • Supply technology in Trains.
  • You must have experience in working with the pneumatic scheme, electrical scheme
  • and software functions for Brakes and AGTU topics.
  • You should be able to calculate the sizing of the air generation equipment for catering to
  • the complete Train or Locomotive.
  • Knowledge of Brake distance calculations will be an added advantage.
  • knowledge of requirements tools (DOORS or similar tool) will be an added advantage
  • Familiar with Auto CAD/CREO or Equivalent tool for design basics.
  • Familiarity with brake system control logic and diagnostics.
  • You are familiar with analysis and review methodologies

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
