Siemens EDA’s Solido team is seeking a dynamic Applications Engineer to be based at our Santa Clara, California location. In this customer-facing role you will be responsible for driving the successful deployment and adoption of Solido AI-powered custom IC design tools into customer workflows. You will be working with Solido Simulation Suite, a highly sophisticated set of SPICE circuit simulation tools, and Solido Design Environment, a fast, accurate, variation-aware tool suite that is used to accelerate a wide range of custom IC design & verification flows.

What You’ll Do

As an Applications Engineer you will collaborate closely with account teams to drive adoption of the AI-enabled Solido Simulation Suite and Solido Design Environment.  Key responsibilities include:

  • Customer Engagement
    • Conduct pre-sales discovery to understand customer challenges and requirements
    • Develop and deliver tailored presentations and demonstrations showcasing how Siemens EDA solutions solve customer challenges
    • Drive adoption, deployment and growth of Siemens solutions
  • Technical Excellence
    • Manage and execute tool benchmarks to showcase product value and market differentiation
    • Provide exceptional technical support, ensuring a seamless deployment experience for customers
    • Create high-quality presentations, application notes, and collateral to enhance the adoption of Siemens products
    • Deliver technical training to empower customer teams
  • Product Feedback and Innovation
    • Serve as the voice of the customer, communicating feedback, enhancement requests, and field insights into the R&D product teams
    • Work closely with marketing and product managers to influence new product features, roadmaps, and strategies
  • Sales Collaboration
    • Partner with account teams and customers to identify, develop and win business opportunities
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with customer stakeholders at multiple organizational levels
    • Translate customer challenges into actionable technical goals for engagement plans and sales campaigns
    • Execute technical engagements with customers to win business opportunities
    • Share regular updates on project status, opportunities, and risks with peers and leadership

Qualifications

We’re looking for a passionate Applications Engineer with the following qualifications:

  • Education & Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related fields 
    • 5+ years’ experience in applications engineering and/or transistor level circuit design or verification
  • Technical Skills
    • Strong understanding of custom IC design methodologies and flows across analog, memory, and standard cell design
    • Hands on experience with transistor level circuit simulators such as AFS, Solido Sim, Eldo, Spectre, PrimeSim, XA, HSPICE, etc.
    • Familiarity with design environment tools such as Solido Design Environment, Virtuoso, Custom Compiler or PrimeWave
    • Linux/Unix proficiency and working knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, TCL, or bash/csh/sh
    • Experience with mixed-signal simulators such as Symphony, VCS-AMS, or AMS Designer is a plus
  • Interpersonal Skills
    • Proven ability to develop strong customer relationships, build trust and drive success
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively in dynamic environments
    • Creative problem-solving skills with a customer first mindset

This position will be subject to U.S. export control requirements under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR).  Employment is contingent on either verifying the U.S. Person status or obtaining any necessary export license.

The pay range for this position is $146,700 - $293,400 annually with a target incentive of 20% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
