Are you passionate about cutting-edge automation technologies and eager to make an impact across industries? Siemens Digital Industries is looking for a dynamic and high-energy Process Automation Technical Consultant to drive innovation and support our national sales initiatives. This role is pivotal in supporting the technical implementation of our Account Management and Portfolio Consultant programs across Siemens Industry, Inc.’s U.S. sales regions. As a Process Automation Technical Consultant, the responsibilities include the demonstration and presales technical support of our primary Distributed Control Systems (DCS), SIMAITC PCS neo and SIMATIC PCS 7.
The Process Automation Technical Consultant will provide technical support for national business unit initiatives such as tradeshows, conferences, channel partner training, and quotation requests. The Process Automation Technical Consultant must successfully engage directly with customers nationwide to showcase Siemens DCS solutions in the context of their specific business needs.
The position reports to the Process Automation’s Technical Consultant manager while working day-to-day with the Account Management, Project Engineering, and Portfolio Consultant teams. Additional working relationships include interaction with Channel Partners and Marketing Teams.
We are looking for a Process Automation Technical Consultant. This position will be based in Harleysville, PA.
You’ll make an impact by:
- Opportunity Support: – support qualified business opportunities through technical consulting, product demonstrations and presentations working with Siemens Process Industries Account Managers
- Provide consulting support for targeted alliance customers throughout the country.
- Coaching/Training for internal and external resources on SIMATIC PCS neo and SIMATIC PCS 7
- Working with partners / system integrators to propagate SIMATIC PCS neo and SIMATIC PCS 7
- Supporting local and regional trade show opportunities
- Responding to pre-sale technical questions
- Assisting with the development of system proposals
- Gather and feedback product requirements and competitive information to the marketing team.
- Drive Knowledge Initiatives – Internal/External Customers
- Provide Paid Consultancy and Front-End Engineering Studies (FEED)
You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- BA/BS in relevant discipline or advanced degree
- Basic understanding of control theory, PLCs, and/or DCS systems
- 5+ years professional experience demonstrating and applying basic knowledge of engineering concepts, practices, and procedures towards the successful completion of complex assignments
- Ability to learn and apply new technology and innovate engineering procedures
- Displays a high level of analytical thinking and brings successful resolution to complex and/or cross-functional problems
- Travel requirements will be a function of assigned projects/customer support and will likely range from periods of light travel (5-10%) to periods of higher travel (50%).
- Good presentation preparation and delivery skills.
- Ability to maintain customer focus by meeting and continuously exceeding customer expectations.
- Teamwork and interpersonal savvy are critical for the position given the external and internal interfaces of the organization.
- Focus and persistence to introduce Siemens Process Automation products, solutions, and technologies to target accounts with incumbent competitive products are key.
- Able to handle pressure well and to prioritize under stress.
- Strong communication skills (presentation, writing)
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Software and/or programming experience
- Preferred education BSCS, BSEE, BSME or BSCE

The pay range for this position is $65,660 - $112,560 annually with a target incentive of 5% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
