What do you contribute?

As a Project Manager (f/m/d) for Framework Design of Locomotives and Driving Trailers, you will take on project responsibility within the Engineering department “System Integration” (specialization: “Framework Design”). You will be technically responsible for concept development and integration of components into electrical switchgear frameworks, such as control systems, electrical switching devices, or sensors, ensuring compliance with technical, quality, and cost requirements.

  • You will coordinate tomorrow’s technical concepts with various interface partners, lead cross-country project teams, and ensure smooth collaboration across borders.
  • You play a key role in developing technical solutions for the department and actively contribute to their implementation. Your responsibilities also include the constructive integration of components and the preparation of necessary documentation.
  • To achieve this, you will closely coordinate with all disciplines (e.g., circuit technology, control technology, cable routing, car body construction, etc.) as well as suppliers, ensuring proper implementation and integration within each project.
  • Through initial sample inspections and tests, you will verify that technical and regulatory requirements for components are met for the respective projects.
  • Additionally, you will initiate patent applications for innovative solutions while also relying on proven technical standard concepts, considering current process regulations, technical instructions, information, standards, and laws.
  • You will also be responsible for managing framework variants within our vehicle platforms.
  • Finally, you will support the implementation of technical solutions in our plants, for example in Germany, the USA, or India.

What do you bring along?

  • A completed Master’s degree, preferably in Mechatronics or a comparable field such as Mechanical Engineering or Railway Vehicle Technology.
  • Several years of relevant professional experience in engineering and project environments within railway vehicle technology, with expertise in integrating electrical and electronic systems and components. Knowledge of standards and regulations in railway vehicle construction is advantageous.
  • Experience in coordinating technical tasks and leading project teams across various international locations. Experience in international collaboration is a plus.
  • Skilled in dealing with customers, authorities, and suppliers, with corresponding experience.
  • Proficiency in using 3D CAD systems (ideally Creo Parametric) and PLM systems such as SAP and Teamcenter is required.
  • Fluent English skills, German at level B2 or higher, and willingness to travel domestically and internationally round off your profile.
  • We embrace the “New Normal” –  therefore, it goes without saying that you can do a significant part of your work remotely.
