Your new role – challenging and future-oriented

  • Responsible for performing thermodynamic analysis and performance evaluation of steam turbine as per Siemens design guidelines.
  • Responsible for thermodynamic design, balancing thrust in steam turbine, efficiency check of steam turbine for New Apps, Mods Steam and Nuclear power plants.
  • Work closely with engineering teams in Germany and America to meet customer requirements for functionality, performance, and schedule.
  • Responsible to provide thermal expertise to R&D team in Germany for product development and integration. Develop improved design methods and tools to continually advance our competitiveness and product integrity.
  • Offer thermal engineering expertise to the tender/proposal team for steam turbine modernization projects in the Indian market.
  • Support manufacturing and field operations by performance calculations and defining corrective measures and troubleshooting for manufacturing deviations and field issues.
  • Lead the thermal aspects of design reviews with global teams, interfacing with customers during review meetings and on-site visits to effectively represent Siemens, showcasing technical expertise and customer sensitivity to achieve high customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare technical reports and other documentation, such as bulletins or design analysis reports, for use by engineering teams or customers.
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes and procedures within the skill area.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites as business needs arise.

Qualification and Experience

  • M.Tech or BE/B.Tech (Mechanical) from any IIT / any NIT / any Engineering college.
  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in Turbomachinery in the area of Thermodynamic Analysis, Heat and Mass Balance, Performance optimization & Efficiency Analysis for Steam, Nuclear and combined cycle power plants, specifically as a thermodynamics engineer - this will be the key assessment point.
  • Relevant experience in providing thermal support to tender calculations, determination of appropriate upgrade proposals using the extensive knowledge of thermodynamics and mathematical tools.
  • Relevant experience of handling customer questions in design reviews and preparation of detailed engineering documents.
  • Relevant experience in providing thermal support to other functional areas of Large Steam, Industrial or Gas turbines components will be of an added advantage.
  • Support performance testing activities on global/ Indian site or remotely.
  • Team player, proactive and able to provide solution within short time with engineering judgment.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal, written and listening), a strong sense of teamwork and customer focus. – Key assessment point
  • Exposure to SAP, Teamcenter and programming skills like python is a merit.
