EHS Roles & Responsibilities – Siemens CS (DC Role)
• Implement Siemens-specific EHS standards and project contractual EHS requirements.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 EHS Management Systems.
• Maintain adherence to legal, customer, and organizational EHS guidelines.
• Update and maintain the EHS Legal Register and track regulatory changes.
• Develop and maintain project-specific EHS Plans for LV/MV/HV switchgear ETC 
projects.
• Prepare Monthly EHS MIS reports and maintain all EHS documentation.
• Identify hazards for LV/MV/HV switchgear installation, testing, and commissioning 
activities.
• Implement risk controls and ensure safe work procedures and JSAs are followed.
• Enforce strict LOTO (Lockout–Tagout) practices for electrical isolation.
• Conduct toolbox talks, risk assessments, and pre-task briefings.
• Guide engineers, supervisors, and contractors on safe work practices.
• Promote and build a strong safety culture at project sites.
• Evaluate contractor EHS competency before deployment.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with Siemens C&S standards.
• Implement penalty and incentive systems for contractors based on EHS performance.
• Identify training needs for different levels of project personnel.
• Conduct EHS induction, electrical safety, PPE, and emergency response trainings.
• Organize EHS campaigns, awareness programs, and mock drills.
• Conduct routine site inspections to identify unsafe acts and conditions.
• Monitor compliance during high-risk ETC activities such as HV testing and energization.
• Ensure closure of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Participate in internal and external EHS audits.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions.
• Recommend preventive measures to Project Managers and EHS Officers.
• Ensure availability and proper usage of PPE such as arc-rated suits and insulated gloves.
• Verify calibration and certification of all electrical safety equipment.
• Monitor and maintain firefighting systems and emergency equipment readiness.
• Coordinate with project, site, and customer EHS teams for compliance and reporting.
• Communicate EHS issues and improvements to all stakeholders.
• Support project teams in developing strategies for risk reduction.
• Ensure safe execution of all electrical testing and commissioning activities.
• Verify grounding, barricading, and signage before any testing or energization.
• Ensure availability and readiness of electrical rescue kits during energization.
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
• You should have 7-10 years of experience in the construction industry. Preference 
will be given to the candidates having experience in power plants – switchyards, 
switchgears, drives, turbines, transformers, Electrical balance of Plant (EBOP).
• Full time Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering or Advanced diploma in 
Industrial Safety (ADIS) approved by state technical board /RLI/CLI.
• Excellent Teammate and Key Collaborator skills
• Co-working and Problem-solving Skills; lean & agile methods and validated tools
• Willing to travel and move across India according to the Projects requirements.
