The Business Development Manager for Inspekto is part of the Domain Factory Automation Americas and reports into the Architecture & Portfolio Sales Team.

Inspekto is a powerful, AI-driven visual quality inspection system based on machine vision, easy to use and proven successful across various industries and use cases with deep integration into the Factory Automation Portfolio.

This position plays a key role in defining and driving strategic sales initiatives for FA’s Inspekto portfolio. The role acts as a primary interface between the Factory Automation Domain and the Sales and Sales Acceleration Teams across the Zone Americas.

Key focus is on enabling Sales technically on FA’s Inspekto Portfolio (with integration into existing automation architectures like SCADA, Edge, Industrial AI) and to further shape DI FA technology leadership jointly with the Zones and the respective LCB teams.

We are looking for a Business Development Manager. This positionis remote and can be located anywhere in the continental United States. 

You’ll make an impact by:

Business Development:

  • Drive business development for the Inspekto AI‑based visual inspection system across Zone Americas
  • Identify and developstrategic opportunities in manufacturing environments suited for AI‑driven machine vision, ensuring strong understanding of customer use cases and application fit. 
  • Work closely with Sales Specialists, Technical Consultants, and G2M teams to execute regional growth strategiesand support vertical market penetration. 
  • Collaborate with Product Management to share market feedback, competitive insights, and customer challenges to inform roadmap and positioning.

 Sales enablement:

  • Empower sales teams and channels by providing key technical insights, training and sales narratives to Zone stakeholders
  • Support sales at customer workshops while product or solution is still at early stage of market introduction
  • Define and communicate a customer value proposition from a technical perspective for the assigned Target Portfolio Element (TPE5)
  • Identify and orchestrate global as well as zone-specific Sales focus initiatives (e.g. sales push, master plan)
  • Facilitate cross-Zone knowledge exchange and best practices sharing for further sales measure definition and execution

Market & customer engagement:

  • Represent DI to key market stakeholders, with focus on the Factory Automation’s Automation Portfolio (focused on Inspekto) e.g., at trade fairs, conferences and associations
  • Actively drive new technologies and the Factory Automation Inspekto Portfolio into the global Zone Sales organizations, e.g. to Sales Acceleration and to all relevant Sales channel teams

Customer & market feedback:

  • Analyze market trends, customer needs as well as the competitive landscape in the zone. Prioritize and consolidate feedback and share customer/ market feedback within the global FA Sales domain
  • Gather product requirements from all channels and analyze/ prioritize feedback including Sales impact evaluation
  • Align portfolio specific requirements based on transparent market and customer opportunities with the BL stakeholders in FA
  • Escalate quality issues and coordinate resolution across global zone stakeholders

Marketing, Vertical and Partner interface

  • Set requirements for product and portfolios marketing and funnel back zone-specific feedback to global organization, e.g., for campaigns and selling collateral
  • Act as key interface for Marketing, global Vertical organizations and global Partner Management representing the global BU Sales domain for the Factory Automation Emerging Portfolio

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in industrial automation or related technical sales
  • Bachelor’s degree in (Software) Engineering, IT, Business Administration (Sales focus)
  • Proven track record in business development/ sales in industrial automation and software markets
  • Strong understanding of industrial automation technologies, Edge, Cloud, IIoT, (Gen)AI
  • Proficient in market analysis and competitive intelligence
  • Expertise in portfolio management and product lifecycle processes
  • Strong experience in influencing and collaborating with stakeholders across multiple organizational levels
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Results-oriented with strong business acumen, ability to create and drive new initiatives
  • Strong presentation as well as negotiation skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a global, multicultural environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and to meet deadlines
  • Traveling >50%
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in vision-based AI and machine vision technologies
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal, additional languages are a plus.

The pay range for this position is 100,450 - 172,200 annually with a target incentive of TBD of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
