About Smart Infrastructure – Electrification and Automation:
The Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing into our Future Grids portfolio and applications to create the power distribution grid of the future. Our comprehensive portfolio meets the growing technical requirements of today’s and tomorrow’s power grid!
We are looking for a Supply Chain Manager. This position will be based in Wendell, NC. Relo assistance available.
As the SCM Manager, you will lead the end-to-end Supply Chain Management functions in our switchgear factory, covering operative procurement, intra-logistics (goods receipt, warehousing), shipping & dispatch, and inventory management & control. You act as the key interface between your team, internal stakeholders, and senior leadership, ensuring seamless material availability and robust logistics performance.
You define the SCM strategy for the factory, setting up state-of-the-art processes and ensuring alignment with corporate and operational goals. You are responsible for establishing and maintaining our PFEP (Plan for Every Part) concept, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and optimization of material flows from supplier to point of use. You drive automation initiatives and digitalization strategies to modernize procurement, warehouse operations, and logistics processes—delivering measurable results in efficiency, cost reduction, productivity, and data quality.
You apply the four leadership roles (Manager, Leader, Expert, Coach) to develop your team and build a high-performance culture. You maintain an active communication channel with the Head of Operations, Production, Quality, and all leadership functions within and outside SCM. You participate in management meetings, represent SCM in cross-functional projects, and ensure alignment with corporate programs (Lean, HPS, digital transformation). You serve as a role model for our values and drive continuous improvement across the supply chain.
You’ll make an impact by:
- Leading end-to-end supply chain operations, including procurement, warehousing, goods receipt, inventory control, and shipping.
- Defining and executing our SCM strategy to strengthen material availability, logistics performance, and operational excellence.
- Establishing and optimizing PFEP (Plan for Every Part) to improve material flow, inventory accuracy, and transparency.
- Driving automation, digitalization, and SAP enhancements to improve efficiency, productivity, and data quality.
- Owning key SCM KPIs—delivery reliability, inventory accuracy, material availability, and warehouse productivity.
- Leading, developing, and coaching a high-performing SCM team using modern leadership principles.
- Partnering closely with Operations, Production, and Quality to ensure seamless cross-functional alignment.
- Championing continuous improvement using Lean / HPS methodologies.
You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management or Logistics within a complex manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading teams across procurement, warehousing, inventory management, and logistics.
- Hands-on experience implementing PFEP or similar material-flow governance systems.
- Strong background in Lean, HPS, or continuous improvement tools (VSM, 5S, Kaizen, SPS).
- Proficiency with SAP (MM/WM/EWM preferred) and strong general IT/digital skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with automation and digitalization initiatives within logistics or manufacturing.
- Background in facilities with high part variety or technical components (e.g., switchgear).
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Experience managing budgets, forecasts, and operational planning.

The pay range for this position is $109,670 - $188,006 annually with a target incentive of 15% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
