Siemens Smart Infrastructure is seeking a driven and detail‑oriented Plant Controller to support our Electrification & Automation (EA) Business Unit in Wendell, NC. This role will be a key financial partner to plant leadership, ensuring strong financial governance, transparency, and performance management across all manufacturing and operational activities. The Plant Controller will play a critical role in driving financial accuracy, process efficiency, and digitalization within a dynamic and growing business environment.


Key Responsibilities

As the financial leader for the plant, the Plant Controller is accountable for ensuring robust financial oversight, guiding business decisions, and enabling operational excellence. Core responsibilities include:

  • Lead the plant’s budgeting, forecasting, and monthly closing processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with business targets.
  • Analyze production performance, cost trends, variances, and productivity metrics to support proactive decision‑making.
  • Provide clear financial insights and recommendations to plant management and cross‑functional stakeholders.
  • Oversee product costing, inventory valuation, scrap analysis, labor efficiency, overhead allocation, and margin performance.
  • Strengthen accuracy of cost structures and support continuous updates to reflect operational realities.
  • Partner closely with operations, supply chain, and engineering to understand cost drivers, identify improvement opportunities, and optimize plant profitability.
  • Ensure adherence to Siemens financial guidelines, internal controls, and compliance requirements.
  • Implement structured tracking mechanisms, dashboards, and digital tools to increase visibility into plant spending, performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for financial questions, audits, and control matters within the plant.
  • Champion process simplification, standardization, and automation initiatives across the plant’s financial workflows.
  • Evaluate and enhance system integrations (e.g., SAP, reporting tools) to reduce manual steps and improve data integrity.
  • Act as a trusted business partner to plant leadership, fostering alignment between operational and financial priorities.
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence across the organization.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • 3+ years of progressive experience in controlling, cost accounting, manufacturing finance, or similar operational finance roles.
  • Strong proficiency with SAP (FI/CO, MM, PP or equivalent modules) and ability to navigate complex data flows.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment with both strategic and hands‑on execution.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to explain complex financial topics in a simple, clear manner.
  • Proven track record of improving financial processes and reducing manual touchpoints through digital tools or automation.
  • Demonstrated digital mindset with openness to adopting tools and technologies that enhance transparency, data visibility, and process efficiency.
  • High level of organizational discipline, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Strong cross‑functional collaboration and communication skills.
  • Required to be onsite in Wendell, NC at least 4 days per week.

The pay range for this position is $61,547 - $105,509 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
