At Siemens Mobility, we design and deliver the technologies that power critical transportation infrastructure across North America. As regulatory expectations increase and cybersecurity becomes a defining customer and market differentiator, we are strengthening our regional leadership model.

We are seeking a Regional Cybersecurity Officer (RCO) to serve as the Senior Cybersecurity leader for Siemens Mobility in North America, with a strong emphasis on Product & Solution Security (PSS). This role is not a traditional IT CISO position. It is a business‑facing leadership role passionate about embedding security into how regulated products and solutions are designed, delivered, and supported across their lifecycle.

You will act as the regional owner for cybersecurity risk, a trusted partner, and a credible point of contact for customers, regulators, and government stakeholders—while operating within a global, matrixed cybersecurity model.

Why This Role Matters

  • Increasing U.S. regulatory and compliance expectations, including NIST‑aligned requirements
  • Growing need for clear cybersecurity risk ownership across North America
  • Strengthening Product & Solution Security controls in regulated environments
  • Rebuilding and formalizing relationships with customers, regulators, and industry partners
  • Establishing a consistent, trusted customer‑facing cybersecurity voice

Regional Cybersecurity Leadership

  • Act as the NAM owner for cybersecurity risk management, escalation, and decision‑making
  • Balance global cybersecurity standards with regional regulatory realities
  • Provide regular cybersecurity risk, status, and maturity reporting to executive leadership

Lead and champion Product & Solution Security (PSS) across:

  • R&D and product development, Customer projects and deployments, Bids and sales support, and Lifecycle operations and support
  • Ensure consistent application of secure development lifecycle practices
  • Translate global PSS frameworks into practical, executable regional implementation
  • Align engineering, product, and business leaders around shared security accountability

Regulatory, Customer & External Engagement

  • Serve as the primary cybersecurity point of contact for customers, government entities, and regulators
  • Support customer commitments related to cybersecurity and product assurance
  • Interface directly with regulators and standards bodies (e.g., FRA, FTA, DOT)
  • Represent Siemens Mobility in cybersecurity‑related customer and industry discussions

Risk, Governance & Incident Management

  • Define and manage risk acceptance, incident response, and escalation criteria
  • Oversee responses to major cybersecurity incidents and audit findings
  • Implement and maintain governance aligned to NIST, IEC 62443, ISO 27001, and related standards

How You Will Work

  • Hybrid role: strategic leadership combined with hands‑on engagement
  • Leverages existing cybersecurity resources (including an established regional team)
  • Works closely with: Product & Solution Security Officers (PSSOs), Product & Solution Security Engineers (PSSEs), R&D, Product Management, Manufacturing, and Global Mobility cybersecurity leadership

What Makes You Successful in This Role

  • Strong collaborative approach — attitude matters as much as expertise!
  • Clear, adaptable communicator who can translate technical risk into business impact
  • A bridge‑builder and trusted partner/influencer to the business
  • Empathetic, pragmatic, and credible with business leaders, engineers, and executives
  • Creates shared ownership rather than implementing compliance by directive

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related technical field with relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP, GIAC, SANS, or equivalent)
  • 7+ years of progressive cybersecurity experience
  • Demonstrated experience in Product & Solution Security or secure product development
  • Exposure to OT / factory security, industrial automation, cloud, or digital platforms
  • Experience working in regulated or critical infrastructure environments
  • Demonstrable ability to operate in matrixed, global organizations

Technical & Regulatory Knowledge

  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity risk, vulnerability, and incident management
  • Hands‑on knowledge of secure development practices:
  • Threat modeling
  • Security requirements engineering
  • Secure architecture and design
  • Security testing
  • Familiarity with NIST, IEC 62443, ISO 27001 and related frameworks

Preferred Experience

  • Background in industrial, manufacturing, transportation, or technology sectors
  • Experience engaging directly with railway or transportation regulators
  • Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese

Work Authorization & Travel

  • Authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (10–20%)

Reporting & Collaboration

This role reports to the Leadership Team of Siemens Mobility North America, with a matrix relationship to the Global Chief Security Officer for Mobility, and works closely with regional and global cybersecurity, product, and engineering teams.
