Today, we are recruiting for a Junior Track Engineer to join our Project Delivery Team in Egypt. This is an excellent career opportunity for professionals looking to join a truly international team in one of the biggest projects of Siemens Mobility.
What Are My Responsibilities?
- Monitor site access and work-front availability, identifying constraints and coordinating with relevant teams to remove obstacles and maintain construction progress.
- Analyze the track-laying process to identify operational bottlenecks and support recovery plans to maintain alignment with project milestones and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate material logistics and installation priorities, including sleepers, rails, fastenings, and turnouts, to ensure continuous site operations and prevent downtime.
- Utilize track asset inspection data such as geometry measurements and rail profiles to support quality control and provide actionable insights to site teams before formal handover.
- Identify and escalate critical track defects or installation issues, supporting root-cause analysis and ensuring corrective actions are implemented effectively.
- Review and verify Method Statements, Risk Assessments (MSRA), and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) to ensure technical accuracy and proper implementation during construction activities.
- Represent the Track discipline in technical coordination meetings with project stakeholders, consultants, and authorities to resolve technical and logistical issues.
- Coordinate with planning, quality, and RAMS teams to ensure track readiness for integration with other railway subsystems such as signalling, telecom, and electrification.
- Prepare progress reports and performance statistics, evaluating construction activities against the baseline schedule and providing structured updates supported by photographic documentation.
What Do I Need to Qualify for This Job?
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of railway construction processes, including track installation, rail corridor infrastructure, cable works, and multi-disciplinary coordination across railway systems.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in railway infrastructure or large-scale transportation projects.
- Ability to analyze technical data and construction progress, and support performance monitoring and reporting activities.
- Willingness to travel and work across project sites within the High-Speed Rail Project in Egypt.
- Proactive, safety-focused, and capable of working independently in dynamic construction environments.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel for reporting and analysis.
