About CF A Internal Control (IC)

CF A Internal Control (IC) is the central governance department for the internal control system at Siemens. We create impact through the definition and continuous improvement of a state-of-the-art internal control methodology and the support of our global internal control community in applying it. In close collaboration with corporate governance owners, we maintain a central repository of globally harmonized control requirements (the ‘Policy and Control Masterbook’) as well as our ‘Risk and Internal Control (RIC) Manual’ as the foundation for the internal control process.

As Siemens transforms into ONE Tech Company, our IC department plays a critical role in ensuring robust Internal Controls across the enterprise, especially over Financial Reporting (ICFR) and Sustainability Reporting (ICSR). We are at the forefront of leveraging innovative technologies – including Generative AI – to enhance control effectiveness, drive automation, and support Siemens' strategic growth levers.

What You'll Do:

• Drive Innovation with Generative AI (GenAI): Ideate, design, and implement innovative use cases leveraging GenAI to transform IC processes – covering ideas from automated control testing and risk assessment to intelligent documentation and anomaly detection. You will be a key driver in exploring how GenAI can enhance control effectiveness, efficiency, and insights.

• Shape the Future of Internal Controls Methodology: Be part of the team responsible for the effective yet efficient design of Siemens' Internal Control methodology, especially for IT controls of systems relevant for financial reporting (e.g., ITGC/ITAC) and sustainability reporting.

• Own and Evolve the IC Framework: Take responsibility for the IT Controls part of our Internal Control System (ICS) methodology and update the RIC Manual to reflect new methodological developments, regulatory requirements, and technological advancements.

• Enable and Empower the Global IC Community: Coach ICS professionals throughout the world on all aspects of the internal control system and become the primary contact for IT Controls methodology and emerging topics like platform- and GenAI-driven controls.

• Develop and Deliver Training & Guidance: Create and deliver Internal Control trainings, guidance materials, and presentations to support the global rollout of methodologies and tools, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.

• Collaborate with the External Auditor: Align and discuss Internal Control topics and methodology with the external auditor to ensure compliance and best-practice alignment.

• Keep Management informed: Understand global patterns regarding IT controls of the Siemens Group and evaluate control deficiencies, leveraging data analytics and AI-driven insights where applicable, and be confident to bring relevant topics into management’s view.

• Contribute Beyond IC: Engage with the broader CF Assurance function and expand your experience through assignments as a guest auditor, contributing to the 'CF A innovation process', or supporting cross-functional transformation initiatives.

Your Profile for "Making the Future Possible":

• Strong Academic Foundation: Degree in business administration, information systems, finance, or related studies, ideally a master’s degree.

• Proven IC & IT Controls Expertise: Extensive professional experience in Internal Control (including ICFR) with a focus on IT controls. You understand the role IT systems like SAP ERP play in an ICFR control landscape and how systems enable IT Application Controls (ITACs) and are protected by IT General Controls (ITGCs).

• Passion for Innovation & GenAI: Strong interest and ideally hands-on experience in Generative AI and its application to business processes. You are excited to explore, ideate, and pilot GenAI use cases that drive automation, intelligence, and efficiency in internal controls and risk management.

• Curiosity for other relevant Technologies: Genuine interest in topics like RPA, low-code apps, AI/ML, and their potential benefits and challenges in ICFR and ICSR environments. You stay current with technological trends and are eager to experiment and learn.

• Growth Mindset: You enjoy taking on new challenges and growing with them. You thrive in ambiguity and are comfortable pioneering new approaches.

• International & Intercultural Experience: Work experience in an international business setting and intercultural collaboration is a strong plus, reflecting Siemens' global footprint and diverse teams.
