Position Overview:   

The Logistics Controller is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing logistics and supply chain costs, performance, and processes. This role ensures transparency of logistics-related financials, supports operational decision making, and drives efficiency through data analysis, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.  

What your day-to-day will look like: 

Financial Controlling & Cost Management  

  • Monitor and analyze logistics costs (transportation, warehousing, inventory, customs).  
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses for logistics activities.  
  • Identify cost saving opportunities and support implementation of efficiency measures.  
  • Ensure accurate allocation of logistics costs to products and business units.  

Performance Monitoring & Reporting  

  • Develop, monitor, and report on logistics KPIs including delivery performance, inventory turnover, and freight cost per unit, while creating regular management reports and dashboards. 
  • Monitor inventory levels and working capital management 
  • Optimize inventory levels and support logistic manager in decision making processes 
  • Analyze deviations from expected performance and provide actionable recommendations to operations and management teams. 
  • Foster continuous improvement both individually and collectively within the team. 
  • Address ad hoc requirements from the Finance Team and broader business, including specialized analyses on focus topics. 

Operational & Process Support  

  • Contribute to the global Performance Controlling Team by facilitating knowledge sharing and promoting open, expert discussions across the organization. 
  • Work in close partnership with logistics, procurement, and supply chain teams to optimize business processes and improve network design. 
  • Engage in ongoing projects focused on continuous improvement and achieving cost reductions within logistics operations. 
  • Maintain high standards of data accuracy in logistics and ERP systems, such as SAP. 

Compliance & Governance  

  • Ensure logistics activities comply with internal policies and financial controls.  
  • Support audits related to logistics costs and processes.  
  • Maintain documentation and procedures related to logistics controlling.  

Cross FunctionalCollaboration  

  • Act as a business partner to logistics and supply chain management.  
  • Coordinate with finance, controlling, and IT teams.  
  • Facilitate strategic decision-making in areas such as make-or-buy analysis, supplier selection, and contract evaluation.   

To thrive in this role, you have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Controlling, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field  
  • Master’s degree or controlling certification (e.g., CMA) is a plus  
  • 3–5 years of experience in logistics controlling, supply chain finance, or operational controlling  
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or international logistics preferred  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills  
  • Solid understanding of logistics cost structures

  • An advanced knowledge of SAP & MS Office applications such as Excel & Power-point is essential, where a working understanding of Qliksense, Tableau, Power Bi would be an advantage paired with a real mindset for change involving automation and a flair for Digital solutions  
  • ERP knowledge (SAP preferred)  
  • Ability to communicate financial insights to nonfinance stakeholders  
  • Structured, detail oriented, and proactive working style

The base salary range for this position in California is $122,298.00– $165,240.00 and the annual incentive target is 10% of the base salary. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.

The pay range for this position is $122,298.00 - $165,240.00 annually with a target incentive of 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
