We are looking for a DevOps Engineer – Data Platform & Kubernetes  (DevOps Enablers)

You’ll make a difference by:

  • Siemens Mobility’s Railigent X platform processes large volumes of operational data from railway assets to enable predictive maintenance, analytics and digital services.
  • The Data Miners team operates and evolves the data platform powering these services. 
  • We are looking for a DevOps Engineer who supports the deployment, operation and automation 
  • of data workloads and platform components running in Kubernetes-based environments 
  • across cloud and hybrid infrastructure.
  • What will you contribute?
  • - Operating and improving Kubernetes-based data workloads and services
  • - Managing deployments using GitOps workflows (ArgoCD)
  • - Maintaining Helm-based deployment templates and Kubernetes configurations
  • - Supporting CI/CD pipelines and repository management in GitLab
  • - Monitoring platform health using Prometheus, Grafana and alerting systems
  • - Supporting API deployments and integrations including OIDC authentication via Keycloak
  • - Supporting API gateway deployments (e.g. Envoy Gateway) for internal and customer-facing services
  • - Operating multi-tenant Kubernetes environments (vCluster-based deployments)
  • - Supporting data platform components such as Kafka-based pipelines and analytical query engines
  • - Automating infrastructure and operational processes across cloud and hybrid environments
  • - Proactively identifying platform improvements and reliability risks
  • What do you bring?
  • - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a comparable qualification
  • - 3-5 Years of Experience working as a DevOps Engineer or Platform Engineer
  • - Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments
  • - Experience with Helm and Kubernetes templating
  • - Experience with GitOps deployment models (ArgoCD preferred)
  • - Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitLab
  • - Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
  • - Experience working with Linux-based environments
  • - Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • - Strong ownership mindset and proactive working style
  • - Ability to independently identify problems and drive solutions
  • - Fluent English communication skills
  • Nice to have
  • - Experience with data platform technologies such as Kafka, Trino or Apache Pinot
  • - Experience with multi-tenant Kubernetes deployments (vCluster)
  • - Experience with API gateways (Envoy or similar)
  • - Experience with OIDC/OAuth authentication and Keycloak integration
  • - Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
  • - Experience with AWS networking concepts (VPC, Subnets, Load Balancers)
